I had a great time with friends today. I went for a walk with a couple friends, we made plans to go on more walks, and it was fun despite the weather. Then I went to see Spiderman 2 with another friend and his friend. I really liked it and would go again.

I said I would take my housemate to the supermarket n really can't be bothered as I am tired and grumpy but it is really raining outside so I felt a bit mean.. So I said I'd take her if she got ready in 10minutes and I was setting a stopwatch.. She's a proper girly girl usually takes like an hour to get ready so it is proving very entertaining!

Am I mean?? Haha

I had a nice talk with my neighbor yesterday. She is a single woman in her mid 40's. We own two adjoining farms. I told her about my plans to correct my physical gender & scheduled plastic surgery in a month or so. She was very receptive & supportive & offered to help me any whay she could after surgery to make sure I was OK. She knew I was feminine however she did not know about my surgery or HRT. I'm very relieved & happy that she will help me if the need be. It's a beautiful rural area & there are not many people around. So I'm happy with that.

Sounds like a lovely place to live, good luck with your surgery Francis

My granddaughter used to load me up with a few dozen boxes, it's all her fault that I'm so fat.  :D

Quote from: Sydney_NYC on May 10, 2014, 10:49:28 PMI went to get gas for the car (in NJ it's unlawful to fill your own tank so they do it for you). The gas station attended told me Happy Mother's Day. Even though we don't have any children, I told him thank you.
A few years back, visiting relatives in south Jersey, the gas was cheaper than the DC area by a good 50 cents. Was pretty strange, to be that different, with the increased labour costs and all.
Hey, you've reached Lauren's signature! If you have any questions, want to talk, or just need a shoulder to cry on, leave me a message, and I'll get back to you.

Not really. The refineries are in NJ. The shipping costs are cheaper, plus those workers get minimum wage. They're really a small effect on gas prices.
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Being transgender is just a phase. It hardly ever starts before conception and always ends promptly at death.

Doesn't NJ have some of the lowest gas taxes in the US?

Yes and right across the water in New York and even Rockland County, NY away from the city, it's 30-50 cents higher per gallon. I believe SC is the cheapest in the US because they have the lowest fuel tax in the country.

Finally felt ready to apply for my new passport. I need photo ID because I'm always being challenged on whether I'm old enough to do grown-up stuff like buy alcohol. I have a daughter who will soon be old enough to buy alcohol, so this gets a bit tiresome.  ::)

Anyway, my old passport expired a couple of years ago but I've been holding off on renewing it because I didn't want to have my photo taken whilst still looking female. Now that the testosterone has kicked in to the extent that I pass consistently, I felt ready to have my photo taken.

So last night I took the brave step of comparing my new photos to the old one in my expired passport... and whilst there are many facial resemblances, the photos look like they're of two different but closely related people... like brother & sister.

Woohoo!  ;D

Nices, maybe I should finally just go get mine. I didn't want a passport with the wrong marker and pic, so I didn't get one before.

Go for it! That's the only thing that was stopping me, but it meant that I've spent the past couple of years with my only official form of ID being in the wrong name & gender. I hate having to explain why that is the case, so it'll be great to have some formal ID that I don't need to explain away.

Okay, this post is a day late but that's because I finally had a chance to log in.

My second-born came home from college for the final time on Thursday, and graduated on Saturday. That day was spent with my both my adult kids, their mother (my ex-wife), and some friends of my second-born. It was a wonderful thing.

This Mother's Day was the first since my gender transition began in 2011 I wasn't conflicted about that day. I will never be a mother in the sense that I will never be pregnant and will never hold a baby to my breast, nourishing that child with my own body. But, I've done mothering in my own way. I had received Happy Mother's Day greetings all day: at church, at a restaurant when I had lunch with my second-born, on Facebook and on Tumblr.

I am a trans woman who still identifies proudly as the father of my children, two adults who call me Dad. I no longer have qualms about this. But to receive Happy Mother's Day greetings from my friends in cyberspace is a joy unlike any other.
