I gave you my knowledge of underwire bras. Many women are down on all underwires and when the problem is really finding the right style for them.  You seem to be taken care greatly by your partner's mom, which is great.

Speaking of bras,
my lovely spouse was placing a Victorias Secret order for herself and she got this cute lil bralette for me :) she said I need some bright colors in my lingerie drawer...she is sweet and I'm so lucky!

It fits great and is surprisingly comfy :)

I never knew the thing about not wearing underwire bra when your breasts are still growing. Altho when I was first starting on HRT , I wore a bra that had wifi in it (Wireless Bra) , I usually only wear a bra when I leave the house and the last few times I have left the house I have not wore a bra as I really only need a bra to push them up and make them look bigger , rather than for support.

These days I have a mix of bras. For every day use I have some nice Full support (with wide chest band) comfort (unwired brass) from Marks & Spencer - 44A Cup. These are my every day bras. For when I am in "boy mode" sometimes caused by work - I wear a Sports Bra (got them in different colours, then for more formal girl wear - say my business jacket and skirt, I have a Cross your heart Bra 44B Cup from Playtex. But for going out, I have a couple of really nice lace Underwire Cup bras 44B with matching panties in Black, glorious pink and mauve . These Underwire bras really lift and shape my Border line B Cup breasts and give then great cleavage and definition. They make me feel a million dollars especially when I am wearing a dress with bare shoulders and low cut  top with an above the knee skirt with high heels. Yes!

This is odd. i've been wearing underwire bras since i started dressing full time... and i dont even feel it. 0_o am I missing something?

I really hope its not impeding my breast development.. how can something that feels like its not there cause any constriction? >.<

Hi Jessica;
I don't know how old you are, but I would strongly recommend that you think about wearing a bra all day every day certainly as soon as you pass the pencil test. As your bust is developing you need to provide overall support for them to ensure that they develop properly and are supported properly at all times. Preferably try to get a proper bra fitting,. In Australia, I have a delightful lady in Victoria (A Corsetiere) and in the United Kingdom, Marks & Spence do a Bra fitting service. Sometimes you might think you are small B Cup, but perhaps what you need is a smaller Band size but bigger Cup size or vice versa. Having beautiful breasts  with firm extended nipples and large areolae are a really important thing for being a women and it is doubly important that as one feminize that we look after our growing breast tissue. This means proper support, otherwise like many women we will be left with sagging droopy breast tissue.

When you can place a pencil under a breast and it will stay put as the breast folds over it.

Sorry if I don't belong answering this, but I wore bras for fifteen years and now I have a teenaged daughter going through this.

I have never heard any medical professional say anything about underwire, and I think most relevant information about it is going to come from individual consumers and maybe from the fashion industry. I always associated underwire with middle-aged and older women, and women with lots of kids. I used bras with it sometimes, as it can help keep a lovely shape and prevent uniboob, but bras with underwire fall apart more quickly, and when they poke through it can be painful.

If you can find a bra with plastic "underwire" it might be a nice compromise. I do know cisgirls who swear up and down that their boob symmetry and tightness comes from sleeping in a tight bra, but I have no way of checking on that, obviously.

I'm not sure where others are shopping or what size they wear, but if I want a bra without an underwire I have to put considerable effort into finding one.

Walmart has a new section of wireless bras and they are comfy, I found one and it's my favorite so far.
