Well I was informed today by the Urologist office that insurance won't pay which didn't surprise me but they want a letter from a therapist and they want me to go to an endo.  Just too much BS. I would have to find a theropist who won't string me along and rip me off and endo who would work someone like me.  Too much red tape and hoops.  So I guess I'm back to self mutilation and I'll find a way to do it believe me.  Im thinking ultrasonic device that would scramble the soft tissue inside that testicular shell.  Liquid nitrogen which real easy to get but really extreme and probably not a good option.  I could also use a device that would generate extreme vibrations.  Sorry for the graphic details but these dam things are coming out one way or another.  If I do enough damage the testicles will have to be removed.  There will be no alternative.  But that's what it's going to take unfortunately. I'm may see if I can find some lidocaine on the internet.  That would make it a lot easier.  Sorry for posting this.  I know I sound like some kind of a nut so please just ignore it.

Firstly, please don't mutilate yourself - it will cause you more problems than you can imagine. Future you will not thank present day you, let me put it that way.

Unfortunately cis gendered society makes us jump through hoops. That's standard practice, frustrating and annoying and wrong as it is that's what we need to deal with. The thing is though, you will need to see an endo if you have your testes removed because your body will need the right balance of sex hormone - either E or T. Otherwise you run a greatly increased chance of osteoporosis, something you don't ever want, especially not at a young age. So that requirement is actually for your health. Hope you can find an endo who will work with you.

Unfortunately you are probably looking at paying out of pocket and possibly traveling a long way if that's what you would prefer.

What doctors and where?  Informed consent would be perfect otherwise I'm on my own.  People keep saying I know these doctors or there are doctors but then stop short of providing names and places.

If you do a web search for doctors who perform orchiectomies for trans patients you will find five in the United States.  They will all state that they will perform the surgery on the basis of "Informed Consent."  This means they are convinced you know what you are asking for, what the effects will be, what risks there are, and what further care you will require for the rest of your life as a result of the surgery, and you sign formal documentation to that effect.

This does NOT mean they will go ahead and do this just based on your request.  They will follow the standards of care and require letters from qualified professionals to ensure that you know what you are getting into.  This is protect thenselves in case you have regrets after the fact and try to sue them.  We live in a litiguous society and they do have to take action to protect themselves.

Getting an orchietomy is not a trivial undertaking.  As the other posters have noted this process has more hoops to jump through than should really be needed.  Sadly, this is the way it is.  Your first step in the process is finding a Gender Therapist to help you start sorting this out.  This sounds like a load of BS to you right now.  As Grace noted this will seem a LOT different to the you ten years from now.

Please see a Therapist.  You can contact one of the centers that will do orchiectomies and they can put you in touch with the needed therapists.  This does cost money.  That's life.

As Jessica noted if you try to do this by yourself you may well kill yourself in the process.  You got the Burdizzo device and rightly concluded that it was way too intimidating.  Liquid Nitrogen is WAY worse.  I use it to treat metal parts and it is pretty intimidating just acting on metal.  On human flesh?  I cringe at the thought.

Everyone here is concerned about your health and well being and hoping that you have a good long term transition.  Remember, this is a marathon not a sprint.

Yeah it should not take an act of congress so they will have to deal with it in the emergency room and it will be a much harder issue to deal with.

If this is what you want to do, it is your choice, but I'm not going to allow any more talk of self mutilation here.
