Hi everyone! I'm extremely happy today, as after many years of waiting and a ton of legwork the last couple months, I saw the endocrinologist today and got my first shot! It's really surreal right now, and it keeps hitting me over and over that this is really happening. ;D

I'm on a really low dose to start with, and besides just celebrating, I made this post because I wanted to ask some questions to the people who've been on T for a bit (preferably anybody who also started out on a low dose). For the most part, just how long did it take before you noticed any changes? What was the first thing that you noticed? What was the first thing others noticed? Any strange weight gain or loss? Any and all details/notes are appreciated, thanks!

Hey man, congrats! So.. your questions. Since we can't discuss dosages its hard to say what is 'low dose T' and what isn't. Besides, depending on what your levels were prior to starting what is a low dose for you might be relatively high for someone else. Changes are also going to happen on an individual tune frame. As for my experience, I took my first shot and within 24 hours my manstration happened. Serious bummer. But on the plus side, I noticed a scratchy slightly lowered voice (like the one that happens when you're really tired or just woke up) within 48 hours, tingling and swollen feeling in the downstairs by 72 hours, was having hot flashes by day five and at the end of the first week my downstairs had doubled in size. Its all exciting! And I know we all scour these threads and YouTube and Tumblr for signs that we are progressing normally and that we are 'on track' with our peers. Just remember that we are all wired a little differently.. and that changes will happen in their own time. Just relax and enjoy the ride! Happy T day :)

Congrats, Dante, and welcome to "Club T"!  ;D

First thing for me was tiny black hairs popping up on my top lip and belly.  My "personal time" stopped after about a couple of months.

Afterward, voice change at about month 3 - then body fat redistribution at about month 5.

My voice.  Then they began to notice the hair coming in.  Then others who hadn't seen me for months then saw me at around six months on T would just remark that I looked totally different, but couldn't say what it was (other than the obvious hair).

Not strange, but I gained several kilos whilst dropping fat/flab - so muscle, which weighs more, increased and body fat decreased.

Other details, weirdly - the texture of my hair changed.  It used to be super fine and straight - now it's rather coarse and sticks out like I stuck my finger in a light socket if I don't slick it down.

My throat was sore pretty quickly, my sleep was more restful, and my confidence went up. When my dose was raised, I immediately noticed emotional and confidence changes. My voice started changing about four months in. Most others notice the change in my voice and confidence. I haven't had any huge weight gain or loss. There were some changes I hadn't expected and some that others told me to expect that haven't happened.
Be patient. It takes awhile and it can be easy to feel down about it.

Thank you everyone! Your replies were helpful.

I'm interested to see how things will play out for me and how long things will take, etc. I still have to officially come out at work so I guess it's probably a good thing I'm on a low dose to start with. All in all, though it may take some patience, I'm just excited to finally be doing this!
