Hi there, your gp is referring to the chalmers centre in Edinburgh which is situated off laurieston place . It is a gender clinic similar to glasgow's sandyford. You will be assessed and treated there. They deal with sexual health and those who have gender dysphoria. Waiting time from initial time of referral is from 7-12 months. Best of luck!!

Not directly for now!. I was however referred there for treatment last December by local psychiatrist after I had been diagnosed as having gender dysphoria. I will be seen there next month with a view to implementing a treatment plan. If a diagnosis has still to be made, this will take longer. Hormones will not resolve all my issues but at least make my path slightly easier. I hope referral does this  for you as well :-)

Got my date at long last! Have my appointment with doctor who will be a gender clinic specialist at end of month. Having already had my gender dysphoria diagnosis I am hopeful of moving forward with the option of hormone treatment on the cards. Watch this space! Wondering if anyone knows the allocated doctor? Excited yet nervous both at the same time.

Wow congrats hope it goes well I haven't even recieved a letter yet and it's been about two months since I was referred :( wish It would move along quicker starting to worry that it's going to take ages before I get on HRT Plus my gender dysphoria hasn't been diagnosed yet which means it's probably going to take even longer :(
