Hey All,

For those of us that are very tall, does dressing sexy usually improve your chances of passing? Does it make it worse?

I'm 6'2 and have been full time for 6 years and always dress in plain womens' jeans and t-shirts, so that I don't get any crushing comments like "she's a man!". Thankfully, while dressing in such a boring clothes, people don't seem to be very interested in finding out if I'm trans or not, and usually treat me with respect, plus the correct female pronouns etc. I fear that if I dress up more or dress sexier, that people will laugh and think I'm just a drag queen looking for a laugh. I'm not a drag queen (although I love them to bits!), I just want the same things that we all want

Has anyone experimented with plain clothes (bland jeans/tshirts) vs feminine/sexy (dresses, skirts, blouses) and are you tall as well?

Dressing sexy is a dubble edged sword.

My freinds all jelly of my legs.

However having my legs out takes the average males attention away from less feminine features. BUT it also attracts a closer look from those men that were i cis born would want their leg over.

I exsperienced both of this in the same groop, I was passing two young men about my age, i get realy shy when this happens and get my phone out for an excuse not to make eye contact. one of the men said hi to my and i looked up and smiled.

After they had passed i heard the one that spoke to me say to his freind, "I think thats a man." My heart sank I was scarred exspecting an iquisitorial persiut leanding to a beating. I put my phone away held my head up, And prepeared for a beating. But then I heard his freind, "With legs like that? No way!"

I was wearing a mini skirt an t shirt.The skirt was tried and tested, heavy anought not to blow up, pleated anough for it to dangle and not exspose me shound i need to squat, and long anough to not show anything shoud I Bend over.

Skirts need those qualities if not worn with shorts or legging. IMO

Options...
1) Jeans & Tee shirt
2) Sexy
3) Lots of wiggle room in between... Unless you count any skirt or dress as "sexy"

I am a thin 6ft even and tend to wear shoes with some sort of heel. My philosophy has always been to make clear unambiguous presentation. In rural West Virginia, a land of 5'4" 250 lb women I really had no issues. Sure a longish look occasionally but I attributed those to simply being I looked damn good compared to most of the women. Not that I was dressed sexy, just usually in a skirt or dress and not jeans or worse.

i found a happy medium works best to me. 6'2" linebacker here...

Jeans + t-shirt or andro = WTF is that?
Too dolled up or over the top sexy= WTF is that?
Cute clothes, with tasteful makeup= pass

6'7" Girl here and I usually dress in women's jeans and feminine tops and Tees. I get a lot of "wow your a tall woman", but never a "that's a man comments" fortunately. Being tall does attract attention and dressing more sexy will also. One thing I will say is that if you have any features that are masculine (and most cis-women have something that is), when you dress more feminine, it tends to make those stick out. I don't consider height being on of those features. Every woman that has commented on my height has said that they wish they had mine.

Yeah we all have to work with our bodies, even cis women will say I wish i could wear somthing like that to each other.

The reason I wear skirts, makes my hips look wider, and my shoulders less broad in comparison.

  Interesting topic, I am am around the 6'2"-3" mark and wear heels all the time makes 6'5"-6".Like Syndey I also get a lot of ---my your a tall woman-- but I get clocked to and don't really care.Almost always go out wearing womens jeans and a pretty top sometimes a skirt and a pretty blouse. Hardly ever do I wear makeup beyond lipstick and my nails are always done and for those I get lots of positive comments. My hair is natural light brown and about 4" down my back so from behind with a natural feminine walk I pass great as I have been told. The face is still under construction laser starts next week. I think most have a longer time line  than I.Around last May I went 95% full time the rest andro and inOctober 99.9% full time and started HRT on 12/25/2013.
When I am rid of the face fuzz I will be fine my voice needs help also and I am working on that.The bottom line is I dress to blend in, walk like I know where i am going, smile and acknowledge people and have never had a hint of a problem anywhere.Dressing sexy would bring to many wondering eyes to a very marginal female and put me in deep do-do with my S.O.  Patty

As a 6' midget (everything is relative...) weighing about 160lbs, I dress very feminine, dresses more than skirts as they totally neutralize the fact that I have rather narrow hips. I do however have very full and rounded buttocks.

In the winter I wear a lot of pullover dresses with thick tights and boots and that works really well. In the summer I wear mostly long dresses with an empire cut (narrowest area just below the breasts) and sandals with low heels. Long dresses may not be what you would call sexy but they look really good on a tall woman. At my age, sexy is definitely a no no but I have  been told by the ladies at the office (in France)  that I dress very well so dressing feminine is definitely not a problem, even for a tall woman.

If you have any female friends, I suggest you go to them for advice. Most women have a very good eye for clothes and will tell you when you are making a mistake. I am married as it happens and my wife would never let me out looking ridiculous. That being said, it works both ways as I have often bought stuff for her and she recognizes that I have a good eye for what suits her...

Anyway, no reason for any complexes. While very tall women still stand out a bit they mostly stand out for how good they look, especially if they have a slim build!

My answer is like Jill F was .And when i can rock a skirt i will be in heaven for sure .6ft 3 is my view on the world and if i can be 50 yr old tomboy then if i am only 70% passable yahooooooooo. I do not go out as female yet but I have been wondering this same thing.  I have legs that I am super excited to show off and hip bones that are also very feminine that as a guy I have always been made fun of for (hoping hrt fills in the area between hips and legs for some nice curves!).  I am 6ft 0inches and pants with a 34inch inseam barely touch my shoes.  I like girls and from my view athletic legs on a girl would overshadow a lot of other "imperfections".   Pretty faces are all over the place.

Dressing sexy attracts a lot of attention - whether you're cisgender or transgender.  If you want to blend in, then dress like how most women do - just casually and nothing that stands out.  I love dressing in stilettos and a skirt, because it feels really girly and amazing, but it attracts a lot of attention and stares (as it would for any girl). 

I never dress sexy cause it simply is not me, so I can't really comment on that.  But I feel like if you just find cute outfits and wear those it's going to not attract too much attention, and you'll feel good about yourself which doesn't hurt.  I think if you go too dumpy, that might attract attention too.

I'm 56, 6'1 and a half and weigh 240 lb.I have celulitis and a badly swollen right leg and don't like anyone seeing my legs. I wear flats as I sometimes need a stick to walk and they are so comfortable.I wear boot cut jeans or black pants and dress like a lot of  50s women.I usually wear girls t shirts and tops,always er rings and necklace (usually a Crucifix).I've got hay fever really bad again so I don't wear eyeliner or mascara as my eyes are constantly watering.I have a clear hair free face and threaded eyebrows and straight ash blonde hair to my bust with a fringe layered through the front(bangs) which I usually wear up or in a pony tail or braid as it's often windy where I live.
I kind of look bland but I don't know if I pass,probably not as I sound like Lemmy but 99% of the time I'm accepted and treated as one of the girls.I previously worked as bus driver for 10 years dealing with the public,transitioned full time in 1991.

6'3" here, 170lbs/75kg. Much to my amazement I apparently make jeans and tee work but I'm still getting comfortable with the idea of passing wearing pants. Fortunately Australian women seem to love wearing dresses and skirts, especially during summer so I've gone with that. But it's cooling down now, so pants and jeans are necessary anyway.

I've never dolled myself up, would like to give it a try for a special occasion but would probably ask someone professional to do my makeup. Won't catch me in a mini skirt though, I'm 48 and most of the women I know around that age or older don't wear them either.

For the most part, especially when going to work or going out, I like to dress to please myself, no one else (although the compliments are always nice!). Usually that means tasteful attractive dresses, footwear and minimal bling and make-up; strong patterns, lots of black and strong colours. Given my height there's no point in trying to hide myself, but at the same time I'm not going to vamp it up, that draws undue and unwanted attention no matter how tall you are.

How about dress like YOU want too? If you are comfortable with yourself, go for it.

well, I'm 5'5 and like casual dresses.

I'm mostly a blue jeans kinda girl but I like wearing a nice dress now and then, I don't really try to dress sexy though

I'm 5' 7" and really admire tall long leggy women but I imagine because they are usually fairly attractive and stand out in the crowd they would get more scrutiny than someone my size. That just puts the onus on you tall pretty girls to be more attentive to what is time and place appropriate in terms of dress. Me I'm a stocky but fit type and get clocked as FtM or a lesbian half the time because of my own androgynous presentation. You tall ladies do have the option of looking rather stunning in your clothes if you make the effort. legs on trans women are most always more shapely following HRT due to earlier athletic endeavors, those sculpted muscles give way to rather remarkably attractive curves.

I like that style Michelle, looks good!  That's close to what I am going for on the weekends and after work.  Where I work now I couldn't wear that mostly because of the safety regulations, but partly because out of 120 people that work there 4 are women.  They seem to dress as much like the guys as possible when they are at work.
