In general though, I haven't tried dating a guy. I'm still trying to figure out how to hang with young guys without being overbearing (I'm frequently accused of being bossy as hell). Consequence of growing up with grandfather age men and overcompensating.

gay bars and stuff around here have gay men and women, so if you don't pass, they will just see you as a lesbian? and wouldn't get kicked out, I had straight friends go to a gay club before with gay friends (seriously this straight and gay thing, you like who you like, who cares), and no one shunned them away, they had a great time

Grinder is the best (and worst. Be warned there are a lot of lecherous old men on grinder.) I use it a lot. And scruff, if you're scruffy or like scruffy men.

Be careful with grinder though. Always let someone know where you are, who you'll be with and when you are planning to get home. The world is dangerous enough for a gay man, but being trans can make you an even bigger target.

I always disclose in a public space before moving to a private one. While I've never had anyone get angry at me about it (quite the opposite) it is not out of the realm of possibility. This might be over cautious but I fit perfectly in a trunk.

Oh, also. Forgot to mention, you might want to explore leather nights at the gay bars if you're willing. In my experience leathermen are some of the most accepting and trans-friendly folks. They're also a ton of fun! But if you want to learn how to navigate how to strike up interest with gay men it could be a good way to practice. They're also more likely to be respectful and polite to you if it isn't their thing.

I'm not gay but I can tell ya what would weird me out if this helps at all.

If a guy were to hit on me I'd be a bit flattered but confused too. As long as he wasn't excessive about it like "mmm your muscles are so tight and big" and didn't get touchy feely i think we'd be five by five. I havent really had a guy hit on me aside from jokingly with my friends (we're kind of strange), but generally I think just as long as you stay relatively within the bro code of no touchy feely, and no excessively obvious hint to the bedroom you should be fine.

Just stay casual and pick up vibes and go with them if you get them. If he's not into guys he'll be quick to get guarded and show signs of being weirded out. If he's into it or at least okay with gay people he'll either laugh or reciprocate.
