My parents are against T, but I figured I would get the information I need now. I don't have a therapist but I was looking at my school records and I was diagnosed with GID by the districts psychologist? I'm not sure what he is but he speaks to people for an evaluation to see if they have any disorders I guess. Now, with that being said. If I get his contact information can this man be my answer to getting letters for hormones and surgery? and if so, how do I start the process of finding an endo to get testosterone. Any questions you have, I'll be glad to answer them.

where are you from? I live in the U.S and i just went to pyschologytoday.com found a gender therapist and then she recommended a doctor for me to start hrt and then I went to the doctor and started T

I live in New Jersey. Do you believe the therapist can recommend me to a doctor?
I'm trying to get my counselor to speak to my mom to let me start. I doubt it'll work because she doesn't believe I'm able to make that decision for myself.

You could get your counselor to talk to your mom. It may work. If it doesn't, you still have time and can still see the counselor to get groundwork for when you can get it without your mom's permission. Many school systems have a psychologist. Perhaps since they diagnosed you, they would be willing to help you deal with your mom or help educate her on what GID is.

Well I have been out to my mom for roughly 5 years. I do hope that the counselor expresses how much pain I feel for the way she treats me to such a sensitive topic. She'd probably play out the "He has 1 year left he can wait." argument. She doesn't want to let go of her daughter even after these 5 years. I've also joined football and I'd like to take something that's not birth control to stop my period.

No one said she had to like it, as long as she lets you live your life without causing problems for you, you should be OK.

Well I spoke to my mom about blockers, and she agreed to it. I'm not really sure where to start to get estrogen blockers. One of the members here said I should talk to my physician and get her to refer me to an internal medicine doctor who has worked with FtM's. I'm going to try and get my mom to make some phone calls to start up an appointment. Does anyone have information on what Estrogen blockers do? I'm in hopes it'll stop my period since I've heard it does that. I'd like to know how long it'll take until its in effect since I'm starting football.

They are also real expensive. A referral to an endocrinologist is what you need. They will delay puberty, I'm not sure they will give them after puberty has started.

Apparently it's usual to wait until the beginning of puberty; according to the most recent WPATH standards:

I have no idea what a Tanner stage is, but there's always Google. 

Makes sense I guess, it just wasn't something I looked into much.
