So this in no way is a I'm this yay me post. Its just that I've never heard of anyone from my society transitioning before.  I'm 3rd generation Grosse Pointe/Palm Beach family. I mean its not uncommon for the New Yorker to cover my family's weddings etc. Any north shore, orange county, hamptons around here?

Is there a reason you'd ask? A concern that maybe only somebody from that class could answer?
To dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person you are.

Not at Alaina, completely off subject, your gorgeous. It's just these people, who by the way I am for the most part embarrassed to be a part of, make there own rules and I was just trying to reach out to those who had had similar experience.

Not real sure how to answer this, but if a highly decorated Navy SEAL can transition why not someone from society? I don't understand quite what the issue would be?

Short answer it highly likely.
Why havent you heard about them? because for their safety they dont scream it out or want to make a fuss. The chanses are in your life time you have allready passed a fair amount without realising it.

In my city I was shocked to realise that the gender services deal with 120 NEW paitients each year. I as far as I know am the only trans person in my city. But that doesnt mean I am the only one.

Also, the media seems to provide the impression that trans people are attention seekers. This couldnt be further from the truth. most trans people just want to be left alone to live. And if you dont know a trans person its for the same reasons you dont know about anyone else you havent met.

Jessica, Kristin Beck was a serious bad ass and unbelievably courageous woman who I would never,  especially on memorial day weekend try to compare to. Its totally different, I was just trying to see who had been through a similar experience.

Fair nuff. And thanks :)

It may help if you'd put your experience / concern / whatever out there and maybe somebody who can relate will respond :)

If you look at it all classes of people transition. There is no group excluded at all. From rich to poor and everything in between. All of us no matter what go through the same things. Acceptance of ourselves, coming out, facing adversity, changing our bodies and seeking acceptance. It takes courage, but what in life doesn't? The drive to be the real you provides the confidence and courage. :)

Stephanie, thats a great point. I guess it was just more of, I've heard of so many people transitioning,  it seems like the trans flywheel is really spinning. I realize we all go through similar situations, just was looking for others who had to go through it the same way.

Still really unclear about what you are asking? We all go through it the same way with the same medical protocols provided by WPATH. Can you get a little more specific? :-\

Jennifer Pritzker  high society  wealth is trans

Well she is certainly rich enough to get the trans pre-fix buried in her wiki page to the very last sentence.

Not trying to be ugly, but there are social differences between haves and have nots. I'm sure she is just looking for somebody on the site that is relatable to her lifestyle. There's nothing wrong with that, imo. I know it feels a bit exclusionary, but at the same time if somebody was asking a question about trans and homelessness I doubt anybody would try to get her to realize that we all go through similar situations.

odysseus - It may just be smart to spell out what your concerns are hon. You may get a response from somebody who you're seeking advice from.

Oh, well I Became a bit confused. Its that word society in the title, its taken to mean general population.

Perhaps, Refrasing it to somthing more along the lines of.

Anybody els transitioning with this lifestyle?

Then in post mention desired lifestyle perametters?

Because the title as it stands give the impression that the question is. Are there other trans besides the ones in the news.

Alaina nailed it. Yes as much as I hate it there is difference.  How many of you have to transition on the society page of the palm beach post.

I think what your asking is: Are there any of the financially fortunate transitioning? Please don't take that the wrong way. I mean no disrespect. I'm just trying to put what your asking in simpler terms so you'll have a better chance of getting the responses your looking for.

If my assumption is incorrect, I sincerely apologize.

Best wishes!

Hi I am big time society, third generation of a powerful families in one of the top 3 financial cities in the world. Books have been written about us. People of all level of society are TGs from the very rich to the very poor we all share the same journey. We have advantages and disadvantages, we have a moral responsibility to society - thats what my dad says.  I made a decision to not be around here when I transition. You will know how society talks, they love something like this and they can be very cruel.
When we first start our journey the perception and moral values all dramatically change in wonderment. As we evolve further it all becomes normal again but the journey has changed us forever.

Hi odysseus513,

I have a cousin from a very well to do family who transitioned about 20 years ago.  Her family shunned her,  the story from her parents to mine was that she embarrassed the family and she shouldn't be talked about.   IMO, she was viewed by her family as a threat to their wealth.  Still today my parents never here about her from her parents but my parents weren't very sympathetic to her plight either.

I guess my question to you is do you think your family would be understanding?  Do you think they would view you as a risk to their social standing?  How about your friends, will they support you if you end up in the palm beach post?

Good luck, I hope it works out for you,
Paige

Warlockmaker and Paige, thank you. This post was never to say I'm or we are better than anyone. I was just reaching out to those having a similar experience.*
