what type Discrimination do you feel is worst?

Physical Discrimination anything to do with psysical moments or actions.
ex: things like, getting attacked on the street, spited at, called names,  etc

Social Discrimination anything who nessesarry arn't said, But still is clearly making a diffrence.
ex: prejuging, people ignoring one for being transgender, People ignoring trans topic or issues, not inviting you/ including you cause your trans, rejejcting you. etc.

Goverment Discriminationbeing discriminated by the law and rules
ex: not being able to get marrige, Not being able to adopt,

The government is supposed to protect everyone. In the U.S., everyone is supposed to be treated equal (I know it does not happen). I can deal with someone trying to hurt me physically, or other people judging me.

I would have to say Government, because it is the only one that can do anything about the other two.

Government discrimination because they basicly have your fate and rights in their hands, like if you live in a country where you can be executed for being gay or whatever. But something like being unable to legally marry isn't nearly as bad as having the crap kicked out of you, and no you can't always handle it.

Social discrimination doesn't compare because those people leave you alone, and you can't force them to like you.

You could argue that the laws arise from social awareness, though, and that for anything to change in the government things need to change in social perception/social discrimination.

This doesn't change that getting yelled at on the street is worse than not being invited to your niece's birthday party. Physical discrimination.

I must disagree. It might be the only thing that can legitimately use the threat of violence against those who might discriminate, but I don't even think threats of violence are a good way to affect meaningful change. Yes, you can threaten employers with lawsuits for discrimination, for instance, and they will hide their hatred and probably still discriminate a lot and get away with it by just not being very open about it. Your resume will just get quietly tossed in the pile with all the other rejections or you'll get "laid off" for some other reason when it's really discrimination. Meanwhile, a lot of frivolous lawsuits are bound to happen when an employer really isn't discriminating and we end up with a lot of unintended side effects of trying to force people to not be bigots.

I'd rather know who the bigots are and not support them with my dollars or my employment. I'd rather see social change that results in many companies trying to out-progressive the others and institute their own non-discrimination policies. I'm with Carbon in that the government typically follows social change. The social change has to happen before politics will follow suit anyway. I think the government "fix" sets us back more than it helps. You can't change people's hearts and minds by writing laws.

Physical

I'd take social rejection over a black eye anyday.

The Government thing could change over time.

I say physical.

Government. I have a son that I need to protect from his abusive father, but I need the courts on my side for that to happen.

To "discriminate" simply means to "make a choice or distinction."  It used to be, that if you had a "discriminating eye," it indicated a level of expertise.

"Discrimination" has now become a pejorative.  Too bad.

I think social discrimination, insofar as it represents social mores and norms, is largely responsible for the other two forms of discrimination. Government discrimination is simply hidden behind a layer of red tape, and physical discrimination is what happens when you blend the "othering" practices of social discrimination with latent feelings of confusion, fear, and aggression for those who are different-- who are the "others".

social or government can not have job,housing,medical help and suicide because of being constantly harassed and you feel there is no way out
