Most barbers would cut your hair, even if they perceived you as "female", surely? I've certainly heard of women get male style haircuts at barber shops. They're cheaper for starters!

Do I put in an application to take over the location that is available for work. It would mean I would be paid on commission/base rate instead of an hourly pay.  However as the boss I definitely have no worries about loosing hours or my job itself concerning any trans issues that are worrying me at the moment

I have never ever heard of anything like that. Being made to wait to see the barber yes (especially if they are good). But being turned firmly away. Besides being absolutely gobsmacked furious at them and wanted to pick you up and hold you if you're down right now.  The only thing I can think of is its a cultural thing Grace and I are in Australia. Hey Christopher that is unreal, try some other place I doubt that would happen again. My cis sister-in-law gets her haircuts at a barber shop mostly because she is a cheap ass, it has nothing to do with being a trans man, they don't give her any static at all.
