Replaced a geranium plant what someone had stolen from one of my neighbors by using starts that I had rooted from a more mature plant, working on getting my own planters ready

You've got a green thumb Garden Princess!

Thank you

I enjoy doing a bit of gardening, just wish I was physically able to do more

She's one of the nicer gals

It just kinda pissed me off that someone had the audacity to steal her plant

I put the new one out at my neighbor's spot as a surprise, she seemed rather happy to find it there

I'm rather shy in some ways and don't vie for much attention, have this bad habit of doing most of my 'do-gooder' stuff on the sly

Nothing wrong with that, like the good book says, when you give to others "Don't let your right hand know what your left hand is doing" that way we aren't just doing nice things for others out of boastfully selfish motives to be seen and praised by others. Besides it's fun to surprise someone on the QT like that and very satisfying. Good for you VM, my kinda gal there!

I went to see my wife in the nursing home and took her lunch - pizza! I decided to try and push her bed to a garden so she could be outside, I got stuck! Two of the male carers rescued us, and then brought a glass of wine  for each of us. My wife thought it was hilarious and accused me of being a tart.

We agreed! It was nice.

Feeling sad as well.
Oh well life goes on.

Got handed a guitar and played a bit at the hotel bar.  Improvised everything as well.

Still got it!

That is awesome!

A lot has happened since I last posted. Some good, some very very bad. But this is the good thread so I will share that here.

My work will be appearing in Star Trek: renegades. So far, fans really like the Mako. I'll be appearing in a podcast to discuss it's design with Scott Nakada, the art director and my boss on Renegades. And Doug Drexler has suggested I do a ships of the line render for the Ships of the line callendar.
And today, I got this in the mail.

WoW, Love it! I've been a big Star Trek fan all my life. It must be awesome to be actually working on a Star Trek movie!

It's a bit long but I totally had to share.

I just wanted to say that my daughter and husband need awards or medals or something.

My daughter went out with my grandpa yesterday to the park and McDs and when my grandpa brought them home he actually used my new name which surprised the heck out of me.
When he left I mentioned it to my husband and my daughter spoke up and said that she helped with that.
Conversation:

Me: How did you help grandpa change?
Daughter: Well every time he said your old name or said she, mom and stuff I would correct him.
Me: *teary eyed* Thank you sweety!

I totally hugged the heck out of that girl. She's just so amazing and blows me away like every day. (btw she's 7)

And today I got a call from my dad and during the quick convo he actually corrected himself with my new name too! When I asked my husband about it he said when my dad called him first, my dad kept saying my old name and my husband kept correcting him. And I guess it stuck.

I'm just flabbergasted. I really really am. I'm at a loss of words. I don't know how I ever got so lucky having such an amazing family but I wouldn't give them up for anything in this world.
I run a FtM blog where I pour my experiences out for others to read. Check it out!

Wife and I went left our clients office early to go to the mall after she realized they put the wrong backs on her nearly pierced ears. (She had them re-pierced yesterday after letting them close after years of not wearing ear rings.) She bough me another set of ear rings and we did some clothes shopping. I got some nice capris that make me look really good :) a few tops and a more appropriate (feminine) computer bag that can double as a handbag :)

I am really thrilled. Renegades isnt a huge movie, we have a very small team, but thats okay, we have a lot of spirit. Aside from the Mako I am charged with building some building models, important set pieces of course and very prominant ones too. I've made some awesome friends from this experience and learned new things. My supervisor has been great too.
If the rest of my life was even a fraction as enjoyable as Renegades has been I'd be happy. As it is I am fighting to keep my apartment and this time my family and I have no where else to go. I even created an art print to try and help raise money. Since my work was going to be seen in Renegades I decided to make the print of Airframe 002 with Renegades Era emblem.

The best complement I have had about it was from Andrew Probert himself who said, "I wish I had designed that."

After the art director sent me the comm badge, I taught him how to get started with rendering. its this helpng people learn that has made it a great experience.

One of my colleagues has been thinking about resigning because she's bored with her job. So I had a couple of words with the right people, recommending ways in which we could put her skills to better use... and she's just been promoted to a more interesting position with better pay.  :D

Compliments abound, and I'm taking them with a smile (not the usual frown and wonder that the other person wants).

Ohhh, you lucky! What I wouldn't like to order a pizza right now. Getting tired of pasta and ramen; I need some meat back in my diet, I could be developing anaemia.
Alas, I have bills to pay before I can buy any food besides the basic necessities. And to pay those, I still need to find a stupid job!

One day it will be! The more time that passes, the closer you get to finding work in that field. And I know that even just that will make your life better. I'm so proud of you. ;D

I'm happy because I got contacted for an interview next week. I'm so nervous, terrified that I'll blow it. But hey, this is farther than I've gotten in the past 6 months so that in and of itself is reason to celebrate!
