just wondering if anybody's going to be out partying for pride week. Great opportunity to get out in your finest and not be frowned upon. just getting lost in the crowd. I just started thinking about it today. I use to work in the middle of boys town Chicago. I might just go and blend in to the crowd

I'm thinking about doing the Pride 5k. Since I haven't seriously run in a year a half, I'm just iffy about looking silly doing it at a casual walk the whole time.

I feel like a probably should, but I'm always nervous about crowds of strangers.

I'd rather see the world from another angle
We are everyday angels
Be careful with me 'cause I'd like to stay that way

you shouldn't be nervous at all every one just has a good time and no one questions anyone else's business .

I've always been confused about pride days, parades, etc.

What are we proud of exactly?

I'm just as much of a woman as the next, and equally just as proud as the next.

I'm straight, but if someone's gay, they love who they love just as much as I love who I love.

It's just a celebration of freedom to who you are

Took the words pretty much out of my mouth.
Being trans isn't something I'm necessarily proud of. I am who I am, can't change it as much as I'd prefer to be a ciswoman, here I am, making do.

In any case, I've some friends who feel more strongly about their identities, might be a good opportunity to snap up some free food/drink/entrance to the club or whatever.
Not going to do any parade or anything like that, I'd rather try and blend in, be treated like any other woman, not as the different one or the exception.
Hey, you've reached Lauren's signature! If you have any questions, want to talk, or just need a shoulder to cry on, leave me a message, and I'll get back to you.

I might go to Nottingham Pride in August.  I might even go en femme.

L.A.'s pride event is this weekend. I'm going with a female friend of mine. I expect the event to be total chaos.

I am a volunteer at the Philadelphia Pride event at Penn's Landing. I be at a booth for work.

I thought about the parade too but I would need to walk back to my car. If I park in the middle of the route them that would be 26 blocks total.

Pride is different for each person. A celebration, not being afraid and standing up and being counted.

The pride here isn't until like the end of September (lame but whatever) and it's the first time I'll be out in public, presenting as fully fem as I can.

So, yes. I AM EXCITED.

so how would you handle sitting around the dinner table watching the news with family or friends or both and all of a sudden your on TV with a nice grey pencil skirt , white or pink blouse and black heels. given that you weren't out to anyone except you therapist .

Not that I think it would happen but the thought did enter into my mind.

I would tell them the truth.

Well... I'm out to my family so it's not like it'd be a surprise. I don't know how well they'd like it, but I've learned over time to just worry about making myself happy. If they are happy along the way with me, great.

Going to LA pride for the first time this weekend. I'm so excited!

LordKAT

I have never been to one, I'm not sure I ever want to. I have a couple friends who say I should. It all seems to me to be way too public of something I don't want to be part of, all act and not real.

It is a lot to take in. There are all kinds of people there and no matter how you present you are just one of the crowd.
