I am lucky as my mental and family doctor was ok to work with me but only after i was the one to start the conversation .My mental doctor had long history with me and had not done trans work .i give the doctor info and doc building history of needs to help others ..My family doctor had long history with me and had worked with me threw my mental and physical rough roads .. At one point the doctor said the herbs i was on could not effect me .. But 4 years later i came out to my doctor and the reaction was like thats cool and has 5 other trans patient ..My findings is doctors can help if your open and prepared with your plans and info .. And its very important that your doctors code your condition to correct wording to have your health insurance pay off ..( have your doctor check your insurance wording to fit there rules)..If your on patch, pill, shot,my insurance will cover me as a female normal amounts of meds ...So i have to work within there system to not red flag my benefits ..You can have your doctor check to see whats the norm and adjust to system ( double patch or 6 pills is not normal and you and your doctor will have to find a loop hole or get it out of pocket) .Trans is not the norm in bible belt but good doctors oath is to give you help to be safe ,alive and you the tools to live a health life ..If your doctor not open to your needs shop around because its your life ,your money ,your rights to be the most you can be ...Use the internet as your phone book ,your map ,your research so your doctor will be on your side .You will be educated in your journey which is number 1 to be like girl scout ( prepared for anything ) Just my 2 and half cents ..AKA Sara
