You forget to factor in the biggest force in political change.
Voting has a tiny impact on politics, the big decision maker is money, and as long as that is the case, the super elite will call all the shots.
The battle ground is through civil disobedience/activism/protesting/social networking Vs Super rich elite
These are however both categories that are not defined by generations.
Some members of the newer generations will get super rich, and many members of the older generations are actively involved in the activism side of the fight, be it through direct street action, the spreading of information or through other means of visibility.
There is no benefit to categorize groups in the manner you are doing so. The goal should be unity, not division.
