I got my intent to change gender form a couple weeks ago and came up with a billion excuses not to just submit it until today. I tend to get anxious about doing something and If I don't do it immediately I just stall, but now I feel such relief about it. I used to get angry about being in a state where you can't change birth certificate, but I thought really hard about what I wanted out of transitioning and got more info about how changing the gender marker works on a national level and I felt so much better about it. It's been on my mind really heavily, but people don't even look that hard at my ID now, they just look for the dob.

Heh, you sound exactly like me as far as putting off paperwork goes. The longer you put it of the more awkward it becomes, and thus begins the cycle of procrastination. Congratulations on breaking it and good luck on starting the process!

Klaus: it's so much easier to do when your doctor only is in yr very small lgbt clinic like once a week too! I hope I'm not procrastinating when It comes to top surgery when the time comes lol. I always have to set appointments wherever I go and write myself notes so I won't chicken out on anything.

Thank you guys, I'm really excited to get the new photo ID too

I think a lot of people share your anxiety about making changes. Congratulations on moving forward. :)
