Destrie

I'm Destrie, a Transgirl who's just starting her transition and is terrible at intros.

I'm a Video Editor in training, Director of an Indy Animation project, and Geologist in training. I love music (mostly classical and foreign), film (Sci-Fi, Westerns, Romantic comedies, foreign), Anime, learning languages, creating languages, playing puzzle games like MYST, cycling, skiing, swimming, instrument playing (Piano, Clarinet, Erhu, Percussion, Violin, Tin Whistle) and am very much a bibliophile.

I hope to get to know you all!

Hi Destrie

Looks like you will fit in just fine here. Join the gang.
I am also a rock doctor and love cycling, skiing and swimming. Personally I liked the explosives. :D

Glad you have had the courage to say hi as it is so very hard.
Enjoy asking questions and having some fun as well.
Also realising you are not alone and we are all here to help.

Jen from Sydney in OZ.
So long and thanks for all the fish

Thanks for the warm welcome! I guess I should post my story here too eh?

I first started to notice that I was different in a gender sense when I was 5, something just didn't feel right. Of corse back then, I didn't know what it was I just knew that I was different from others, but whenever I was put with a group of boys I felt out of place. Later on in life when I was about 15 the same feelings surfaced again, this time they where a lot stronger than before which made scared at that time, because I still didn't know what to do about them, and I didn't want to be bullied while I was in school. So I tried my best to forget about them, until a year later at age 16 I finally decide to learn about Gender Identity, and I discovered that this is what I was feeling, I'd been wanting to live as a girl. I came out to my self that day, and 3 years later started coming out as Trans to family and a few of my closest friends and started joining LGBT forums, and here I am today just starting my transition. I have yet to come out to my dad as he's a bit insensitive about these topics, he's also old fashioned and has the mind set that you are the sex you where born as and you can't change. Therefore I'm waiting until my first or second Gender therapy appointment, or maybe after I start HRT, so that I have both my therapist and mom backing me up when I decide to come out to him.

What girl doesn't get a thrill out of C-4 or Semtex? *giggle* ;D

Welcome to the family Destrie! You will fit in just right here and it sounds like you have a VERY good plan in place. Dig right in and make yourself at home as you now have a ton of support.  :)
