I took T for 3 months and I stopped in april, but I find myself still missing my old voice (and body) really terribly. It's caused me such a terrible depression, I've even been considering voice surgery.... I just want my old voice back. Any thoughts/advice?

Not drastically. It definitely still sounds female. I do notice some new low notes I can hit that I couldn't before, though. And people I've asked say that it does sound somewhat different.

I know it's not a huge deal for some people, but I didn't realize how much I'd miss my old voice and body. I used to be able to do a high pitched scream, like at concerts and stuff, and I can't do it anymore :/

I do miss that. I had this special way to call my cat, and I just can't do it anymore.

Sadly, I don't think there's anything you can do to get it back really. I have something where I still somehow use my old voice. I don't really 'utilize' my male voice. Not sure how to explain it, except that the voice I used most often as female was phoney and not my real voice. I somehow pushed it higher I think to try to cover up the way I was. It was unconscious, so I don't know how I did it. So I revert back to using it a lot.

3 months total? Is not long; so you may still find some more natural changes occurring. However as an mtf I had to do voice training (hopefully I can avoid voice surgery) which amounted to learning to speak at a higher level with the front of the mouth. This pulls the vocal cords up and forwards over time. It might not be enough for everyone but worked for me.

The biggest help was using an iPhone app called pitch analyser. I trained myself to speak using the higher tones and octaves (A4-C5) whilst reading aloud from books etc. you may find such exercise helps you return to your old voice quicker. Humming through the pitch range also helped polish off the melody.

Good luck and hopefully you will find it returning

For singing and high-pitched screaming, training your falsetto (ideally with a voice coach) can help. You may have to relearn how to articulate those high sounds because your vocal cords have shifted into a different position -- but it is generally possible. It might never be exactly the same, but getting back some of those high notes is very achievable -- many a teenage choir boy does it.

On the plus side, voice lessons are much cheaper and less risky than voice surgery!

I think it is possible to get your old voice back. I didn't start spiro and estrogen until age 18, at which point I had some masculinization of my vocal cords. It was less than most 18 year old males but it was still there. But by using MTF voice training techniques I managed to get rid of all that boom and sound 100% female and quite high pitched. I found that with time on female hormones too my voice began to mature like a woman's would with age. I imagine with time and maybe a bit of practice whatever T did to your voice will be mostly gone.
