Gays in trade unions are marching under their own banners today in many Labor Day parades across the country today, a sign of the growing visibility of LGBT workers.

More and more unions are requiring equality for LGBT workers in contracts.  Even the number of non unionized companies protecting gay workers is growing.  But, legislation on both the state and national level is sorely lacking.
