Hello Gurls, I was wondering if any of you knew about any tricks for growing your hair longer, I currently have a short pixie cut, which I like but I feel like it would be easier to pass with longer hair... So yeah thanks for the help! Also do you know how long does it approximately take for hair to grow from a pixie cut to shoulder lenght or a short bob?

I love your hair color btw, my mom has the same, I sometimes think about dying them a reddish color, but I guess it wouldn't seem really natural for me XD

imma just derail a bit but emily, i'm finding you quite adorable. its more so of awe xD, but as for hair, i dont think there is something that can make it grow faster but if you style it a certain way and use certain products, it'll stimulate hair growth. i'll see if i can find the products than tell you lol

I believe that hair grows about half an inch per month. Maybe give or take but it's nothing drastic though. Growing it out, yeah, don't get it cut anymore. Take really good care of it to keep from getting split ends and so on and the only time you may even need to cut it is to even it up or the occasional trim. It will get really awkward so don't get discouraged by that. Best thing to do is talk to a stylist about the best products that is good for your hair type. If you are aiming for shoulder length you are looking at at least a year, if your hair is curly you're looking at even a longer period of time.

  Hi ,

I am no expert , so please don't take what I say as a must , but in my opinion you should try and make sure your hair growth isn't affected by lacking some nutrients  .  Many nutrients required for hair growth , are required for health , in general . But you can focus your attention on things like Iron , Biotin , B3 , B6 , B8 vitamins , and  more  things you often find in Hair , Skin and Nails supplement .
Also , you should get enough proteins and caloric intake , so the body doesn't prioritize them on other organs ( I often eat a lot more than I should and use this excuse to myself : I need calories and proteins for hair  ' :)  ) .
They were some other topics about some chemicals people used and the hair grew faster , but I didn't try them and I don't want to expose an opinion about them  .

Well, Emily, I've been growing, cutting and growing hair for at least a couple of your lifetimes I'm sure and I've checked out pretty much all the tricks for growing hair faster. While eating a healthy protein-rich diet and doing gentle scalp massage may help to some degree, I've think it has more to do with your particularly body than anything else. There are a few lucky people whose hair grows faster than 1/2 inch per month, but for most of it that's it.

I think the best thing is just to adjust your attitude toward hair growth a bit. Find other things in your life to apply your attention to that are more important than growing hair. After a few months of this you'll look at yourself and realize your hair has grown substantially. Long hair is a nice thing to have, but in the big picture it's really a pretty minor life factor.

You can't make it grow faster, but when I first grew many out as a teen all those years ago I did have 1 secret weapon...a hat.

Get a hat, leave your hair alone and DON'T CUT IT AT ALL!!!

I never wore a hat even through the awkward stages. If I wore a hat I always ended up looking like Bozo the Clown with the hair outside the hat curling up and defying gravity. Nut also if you present as a guy with girly hair, you might as well get used to the looks, stares, comments and friends that you are not out to giving you a hard time. I have had to go through that awkward stage twice, once in my very early teens and then again in my mid twenties. Patience though, grasshopper. It does take time but it is so worth it. Start taking extrememly good care of it now to avoid split ends and damage though.

It seems like when my diet is heavy in seafood and the veggies I like; my hair grows much better and is much healthier, my nails and skin look better too.

When I can't afford to eat as I would like, I notice all of those things suffer so I would say diet matters a lot to hair as counter intuitive as that sounds.

Edit: By veggies I like, I mean Artichoke, Spinach, Olives, Asparagus, Brussels Sprouts, Collard Greens, etc. When I am not as well financially though, I end up eating corn, green beans, broccoli, and other much cheaper veggies which don't seem as good for me.

my hair naturally grows fast even without products or a diet. i hardly eat anything so my hair is a bit brittle but it still grows out stronger a little faster than other people. maybe it was because of the haircuts
