Does anyone here actually look out for trans people while out and about?

I think I saw someone cross dress. He in a dress and make up too. I try to help him out but the way he act make it hard for me to help him. He talk really fast and not really to the point what he want. I want to help but it was hard.
I saw one that was trans as a girl. I try to help her, however she came to the wrong place. So I tell her where she should pick up the item she was looking for.
A few time I heard people make fun of trans people.

I'm always afraid I'm wrong, I have like no tran-dar.  I tend to assume people are the gender they are presenting.  And if they are presenting androgenyne, then I try not to guess either way.

I think the main reason I'm here is because I started seeing people who looked kind of like myself out and about, who weren't ashamed. It made it easier to admit to myself that I wasn't quite fitting the norm. There's a natural tendency to deny being something that's considered derogatory, even if it's true. Having just one other person be brave and show the dishonesty and hypocrisy behind the shaming helps you be brave as well.

I have to admit it -- I'm completely addicted to ->-bleeped-<-spotting! I was at the airport the other day and saw at least two, possibly four. I wasn't even there for very long! (And yes, I'm sure about those two.) Makes me wonder how many transpeople "spotted" me before I went on T and became all studly. ;D

EDIT: One of them was a stewardess! She was hot!

sometimes our ->-bleeped-<-dar is overactive, and we read natal females... we want to see trans folk...
Heh, that happened to me a couple months after I saw The Crying Game-- I saw the movie Hexed and I guess I'd been made wary about this-- I was positive that the female lead Claudia Christian was MTF. But I was wrong.
Here's what I find about compromise--
don't do it if it hurts inside,
'cause either way you're screwed,
eventually you'll find
you may as well feel good;
you may as well have some pride

I sometimes try to guess, but I readily admit that us folk get a lot of false positives
