Hello everyone :)

I recently got my blood work back from my doctor and so far everything is great in terms of levels ~ However; as you all warned me, the medroxyprogesterone was literally driving me bat->-bleeped-<- crazy, depression, anxiety, etc. So I told my endo and he switched me to Micronized Progesterone (a higher dose too because he told me the only bad news was that my P levels were very low) ~ now; before with the medroxy, i was taking it at 7:30 with my third dose of E (to avoid any collateral damage from the side effects of medroxy that are often immediate such as irritation and intense mood swings, but it seems the depression builds the more you take it), and I was wondering if there is an optimal time or way to take micronized P. Luckily, the most common side effects with micronized P are things like nausea, dizziness, bloating, etc. And depression is only a rare/serious side effect from it, while with medroxy; depression, irritability, mood swings, anxiety are common side effects.... it makes me wonder why its even prescribed.

But anyway - can anyone offer some insight? Or should i just continue taking it at the same time as i was taking the medroxy?

I actually recently decided to wait until post-SRS or post-Orchi to keep taking progesterone. I tried using bioidentical P cream for a couple of months, and I started seeing androgenization effects... hairs sprouting back up, sex drive went back up, looking less feminine to myself. And I read a study somewhere that when exposed to testicular tissue, progesterone converts to testosterone, so I got scared and gave it up.

And technically, most of female puberty takes place in absence of progesterone... progesterone doesn't come around at all until the onset of menses, which is usually 2 years or so after beginning puberty, so it makes biological sense to wait a bit as well.

Not sure if any of this is accurate or not, but just something to consider.

My Physician's Assistant would not prescribe it for the 1st year. When I saw him a month ago I asked and he prescribed it and said this will take you over the top (meaning larger breasts). I have not noticed any negative side effects and my T was 24 mg/dl 6 months ago. I get bloodwork in December and I am interested to see my T level .

Well, my endo 'did' tell me that my P levels were low and that my T was Quote - "<5", while my E was above 500. It could probably be because i was on a VERY low dose of daily P, now i'd say i'm on a pretty high dose of the micronized P. but hey, If it gives me bigger boobs... right on lol I just started developing an actual cup size and i have a tiny bit of cleavage :3 of course, im the only one who can see it when i look down into my shirt :P

Emily! I did the same thing! My endo offered me medroxy or the bio identical. I decided on the medroxy since it was cheaper, which turned out to be a bad choice. I ended up super depressed 6 months into it. So I switched and have been on the bio identical ever since. Anyways I've experimented with taking it at different times of the day. And what I found best for a while was taking my first dose in the afternoon after lunch and then the last dose after dinner. Taking P with food absorbs better so yeah but it also makes me super sleepy. Which is why I take it after I eat. But for the past month I've been taking both doses before I go to sleep, since the drowsiness was kicking my butt more than usual.
