Hello everybody! My name is Squirrel. I've been struggling with thoughts of really desperately wanting to be a girl for the past 6 months or so. I always considered myself a girly person, but I never really had any of these thoughts until recently. Anyway, it has really been plaguing my entire thought process for all this time, and i'm really unsure on how to proceed. I have only told my closest friends about this and they have failed to help me. I really don't know anyone that can help me, so i'm turning to the internet. I don't normally do this kind of thing, but it is really important to me that I receive help and advice from more experienced people than those I have met. The things i struggle most with is; the awkwardness of the transition period, looking like a convincing girl, and really whether or not I should even bother with any of it. Anyway, i'm very interested in hearing what anyone has to say. I hope I can continue to come hear for any help I need in the future

The main things to remember in life are Love, Kindness, Understanding and Respect - Always make forward progress

Superficial fanny kissing friends are a dime a dozen, a TRUE FRIEND however is PRICELESS

Hello! Ok we are the same age and I've been told that it's against the rule of this forum to write your age if you aren't 18 yet so I would change that, but welcome to Susans! I'm really afraid too! Do you go to high school? You should try to talk with your counselor or look for a gender therapist in your area... I am kind of shy myself and think its very hard to go though this alone and this site is very helpful and full of info! Also you might want to ask your family for help if they can support but you dont have to! Yeah but start with a therapist :3

Welcome to Susans and congratulations on taking the first step.  Yes, dysphoria and transition are scary, but if you decide to transition then if you have a good gender therapist, work with a good endo and build support then transition is certainly doable.   At this stage you don't need to overthink this, connect with folk, read the many relevant threads and then work with your therapist to work out what works best for you.

Safe travels
