This story is half joke half real life.

So a guy walks into a bar.

He sees a recent picture of mine where I wore an awesome dress.

Behind my back he says, "She looks like a man in a dress."

The punchline is that I'm stoked that the jackhole still gendered me female.  ^.^

Kinda, but in reverse...... took a pic last night with my wife for her facebook profile pic. now im in boy mode no make up no just compleatly relaxed. and a mutual friend of ours who does not know, posted on it saying i looked like a girl an needed facial hair to know i was a "real man" lol. I almost corrected him but with people on her page we dont want to know yet i didnt.

Amazing!!  My story was from facebook too.  You should totally add me!! The picture in question was my profile picture.  Its me and my wife in this photo thing.

  I had a funny encounter in the Subway train , I was sitting near a group of young people , boys and girls , and when I had to get down at a station I passed between them , it was a little crowded  . One guy asked another after I passed , ' This girl is a dude ? ' . I know it is not the same , not even a pass , but it was funny the tone that guy used and also that he gendered me female and has doubts , rather than misgendering me like others do  . 

I'm in the local hardware store and a male clerk ma-am's me and the female clerk says, "You idiot, can't you see she's a guy? The male clerk is adamant and continues to ma-am me, so to settle the issue which was becoming rather heated between them I lowered my voice and said, "I'm a man stupid!" The female clerk and I became fast friends, she even hugs and kisses me whenever I go in the store.

@Claudia_FF  I hate that!  Like we are a friggin game or something.  I remember walking on a park trail and these high school kids were just staring at me like crazy.  I wave at them and everything and nothing.  Just a blank stare.  Granted I was androgynous that day wearing guy clothes with a girl hair style and sunglasses.  After I walked by I heard one of them whisper, "...yeah....you can tell by the adams apple..." And after I waved so politely. Lil bastards. lol

@Shantel  Your stories are always so hilarious.  You could write a book!  I wonder how low your voice got when you said "I'm a man stupid!"   I imagine that baby from roger rabbit for some reason.

I walked into my wife's job for the first time ~ she hadn't told anyone so she was nervous because she works around primarily asians, and even though you would think they would be aware of the trans community, they're actually quite oblivious ~ but anyway, i walked in and ate for the first time as me and when she was finally ready for me to come in; and her coworkers asked her "is that your husband's sister?"

Talk about ego boost lol

@LittleEmily24  Thats awesome!  You definitely look more like a sister than a husband.

My ex and I were in a hospital and she sees a co-worker on the stairs, so she goes and chats. I stay at the bottom of the stairs, maybe 20' away.

Ex tells me later her friend asked if I was her sister.

(While it made me feel good, it bothered my ex...she accepts me but is disturbed by how much I've feminized.)

@Beth Andrea  Its so hard for people who know us.  For them its like our male persona died.  For us thats great because he really didn't like it anyway but for them its horrible.  They really loved us as men.  Tough.

I don't mind her and her "loss"...the fact she accepts me and respects my womanhood = WIN! And I respect her, too. We had a very amicable, if heartbreaking, separation..
But by the time we divorced, 95% of our emotions had been worked through. 6 months later (1.5 years after separating), we both have "steadies" who are excellent matches for each.

Ugh, twice... LOL.. Recently at a Stop & Shop, waiting in line to check out and there were to little girls, apparently sisters, and I saw them looking at me and when I noticed I heard "She looks kinda like a boy..". Wasn't so happy about that. The other recent event was at H&M, I had just tried a few things on and as I was leaving, 2 kids, apparently sisters as well, were debating if I was a girl or a boy.. I heard one say "No, that's a girllll, shhh" so I just smiled at them, and went on my way.. At least they think I'm a girl who just has some male characteristics, but still.. ugh LOL..

I frequently hear "is that a boy or a girl?" When I am at work in male mode at a store gettin fuel or food. The thing that sucks is if I actually say anything I am usually gendered male but even in male presentation if I don't open my mouth I am frequently gendered female.

This tells me two things it might not be realistic to wait another year to go full time and I really need to work on my voice (though when presenting male I don't usually use my female voice).

@Jocelyn Rose  Always with the stupid guessing game. lol  At least the adults are better at hiding it.  I just smile at those people too.

@Hikari  The friggin voice.  I hate it!  I work and work at it and the best I have right now is androgynous.  It works when I'm presenting as female.  I have a trans friend friend with a pretty deep voice.  She kinda said screw it and just uses her old voice Laura Jane Grace style.  It seems to work for her because her feminine clothes, appearance, and mannerisms tip the scale over to the female gender.  Still she gets sired on the phone all the time.  For me on the phone I get "nothinged".  No sir.  No ma'am.  Just someone on the other line not wanting to offend and call me the wrong gender. HAH!  Once they hear my male name the put their "sir" in bold letters every time they say it.

Oh yes, the voice.. I was at my friends sons 1st birthday, all dressed cute (Im full time) and I approached her father for a beer.. When I asked he looked surprised and was like "Im sorry, what?", so I repeated myself and he made a simple joke about something irrelevant to be friendly. The next day, my friend was like, "yeah my dad had no idea you are transgendered.. Till you asked for a beer and he heard your voice".. It actually made me laugh, since I have such a deep voice and even though I'm full time, I haven't begun working on that yet.. but I feel you guys on that!

@Jocelyn Rose  Yeah people get really bothered by that!  Its like there brain is saying one thing (okay this person is female) then their ears say another (okay females don't have voices that deep).  I can't even imagine.
