Can't beleive I'm starting a thread in this section. I seriously didn't see this day coming.

Basic thing is this. I found out about the possibility of cosmetic SRS in another thread and I'm wondering if anyone has experience or more info? I've found some and it seems like the right option for me (provided I can get over pieces of my flesh being round filed).

I found an old post on the forum that had "You never know" themes running through it but if I have to get the full SRS I ain't getting SRS, therefore, I won't be penetraitable so I'm not losing anything. But I would gain a ton of comfort from not having to tuck. I also like that it seems a lot less invasive and so I could do it under the pretense of a vacation which I like cause if I do this, I don't want the event to come up at work. This is the most private part of my private life after all and I don't want to have to tell others because of the time investment.

I'm not sure if it would help but is this the thread you were referring to? It seems to provide some useful information regarding it.

SRS full vs. SRS cosmetic

I don't think that was the one.

I found a few others looking for the one I found. This one had some information I learned in the other thread that Brassard does it:

I was wondering about how the heck do you go about finding other doctors who'd do it?

Mostly the hunt and peck method of emailing surgeons. The best memory I have is that Brassard, Reed and Bellringer all did non-vaginoplasty reassignment although Bellringer is in practice flux and I'm not sure if Reed does still. A lot of the surgeons probably know how to do it but don't want to get sued by regretters.
Personally, I'm years away from even touching a doctor's coat even though I'm at UMN right now for medical education :|

Good to see you Flan. :) And thanks.

As of 2013 Brassard definitely does; it was listed in the paperwork I received from him. It's rumored to be cheaper, too, but I don't have any knowledge of that as I ultimately didn't elect it (I do wish I had.)

Good to know as I'm pretty well committed to the idea that a cosmetic solution is in my future.

O.o

I'm not gung-ho "I'M GETTING SURGERY!" about this. I hate the idea of going under the knife and would feel the same way about getting my tonsils removed or my appendix out. Despite where I am now with this I still don't understand how so many people I've met can be so casual about surgery. But I felt the same way about HRT and blood clot risk and now I'm all, "meh". Still this is surgery. This is cutting my living and I'd very much like to keep it alive cause I don't want to go, flesh.

This is going to take time...

This intrigues me... Is it the same as regular MTF GRS but without the depth and dilation? Do you still get all the sensation? If I ever manage to afford GRS and this is indeed cheaper, it sounds like the option for me, since I have no desire to ever be penetrated.

All I have to say is your life, your rules. I or anyone else can say about our choices but you have to decide what is best for your life under your rules. Take as much time as you need.

The "vagina" is sorta still there but more of a dimple as opposed to a cavity in order to have labia aesthetics. Sensation (sic) is still there externally in the clitoris. G-spot is accessed the "other" way (anus).

I may not like the idea of a man in side me, but the idea of another girls fingers or even my own appeal to me. Its not my primary interest, but its still there.

I like dimple. Sounds cute.

awilliams1701,  you only get one chance to get a vagina lined with your penis skin, so if you think you would to play  or have a girl play in there you need to get it with your SRS.
  •

awilliams1701

Well that's currently the plan, but I'm pre everything. I start therapy tomorrow. I guess I could have been a little more clear.

For me, the lack of the vagina cavity would mean a lot less hassle (dilation) and I have a hard time seeing negatives. I'm not interested in having men penetrate me. My wife has tried play that involves penetrating me with either her fingers or a toy and I find that completely uninteresting. There is just no sensation within the cavity for me; it's all in my vulva.

I had planned to ask for it but chickened out. I was terrified of being refused (yes, I know this is irrational. It was the product of 19 years of dealing with abusive gatekeepers.)

Could you safely stop dilating? Would you only lose depth if you didn't, or would it cause other problems? This may be a really dumb question. Apologies if it is.

At this point I could, yes.

awilliams1701

That actually is a good question IMO. I think we should learn as much as possible. This is something my therapist encouraged me to do today.

One of the women in my cohort asked Brassard that question. He said that it's fine to do after 6 months, but there are health reasons that make it necessary for the first 6 months.

The way it was explained to me, the early dilating makes sure that the vaginal membranes and the tissue into which it has been set maintain contact so they grow together. If they didn't, there would be a possibility of prolapse, which is really serious, not to mention unsightly.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

I've heard you have to do it for life though. I would imagine that while there might be minor complications it would be possible to stop after you're fully healed if you decide you're not worried about depth.

As for prolapse, yes I've seen that in porn. Only the ass though. It shocked the crap out of me and I'm like that girl needs to go to the hospital!
