I just recent watched Milk for like the 1000th time, and the first thing I thought when I heard your voice was, ''Is that Anita Bryant?'' Of course you're not Anita, thankfully, or I'd have to throw a pie in your face followed by a glitter bomb, but you sound like her I think--so yes, your voice ''passes'' to me. It has that breathy, classical sound to it. I like it.
o: now i'm curious on who this anita bryant is. i already was told i look like Michonne from the walking dead so i just slap on make up stuff a bra and there ya go xD glad to see i at least have a starting point xD

How would you guys gender my singing voice? And do you think it could eventually be pretty? I'm trying to get more comfortable with it.  :-\

I do think you pass. There are some parts where it's not absolutely 100% and sounds a little high, because I know, but overall definitely pass. If your voice drops more it will be 100% for sure. :)

*waves to kitties* I have 2 cats too!

@auroramarianna

You're close in 133 just sometimes still too much falsetto. Otherwise it sounds pretty good. :)

Initial impression says female to me, though in the first clip you could perhaps pass as a young boy too if you present as such. Are you on T btw? It's difficult to judge how a voice is going to change. Have you tried to run it through those programs where you can change the pitch? I'd lie if I say I would even remotely know.

Cheers. Yes, it will definitely drop more and I think I speak at a higher pitch than what is necessary as in, I could speak lower just fine but I don't. Also, depends a lot on the day, how strained I am from speaking overall etc.

Thanks, yes technically I am cis male but still living as a girl, sorry, I know it's confusing. ^^; but my voice by now is where it's going to be. I can go a bit lower or higher too though I'm just trying to sing in a comfortable range.

Yeah, I know what you mean, keeping hydrated and using your voice a lot makes a big difference to how it sounds! :D good luck!

What programs are those? I kinda want to hear what I'll roughly sound like once I start taking T.

You can do it in audacity which is free. (:

Yeah, I don't get that...

All right. I can't say if you want it to sound male or female or androgyne based on that, but I guess it doesn't matter.

Yep. I also know of these exercises that you can practice daily to drop your voice further but I think I wait until it has settled before I may feel a need for that.

I know my voice doesn't pass. But given the fact that I used to sing base in a choir, this is progress..... I guess.

And April's natural voice. I didn't want to show this, but what the heck?

Wow really? That's great and I can't wait to get them near the end of the year.
Tried to control my voice better pre-T and attempted another fast rap. Thoughts?

WOOOW! That's a huuuge evolution :D you should be happy, your voice is getting there!! Congrats~ :)

Also, guys, your voices are good too! Testosterone will make them deeper, so as time goes by, it only gets better for you :)

Your voice is really soft, but I think you're still resonating from your chest. I'm not an expert, so take this with a grain of salt, but I think the next thing you should work on is raising the resonance from your chest to your head.

Here's my attempt:

https://soundcloud.com/princess_catherine/voice-205

I was told before that my pitch was too low, so that's the main thing I've been working on lately. I've managed to get it all the way up to a D4 on the scientific scale. I don't really hear any masculinity in this voice, but others might hear it differently. What do you think? Is it good? Where could I use improvement?

Hi Riversong,

I think your pitch is high enough for sure, If I remember correctly everything above an A3 is considered unmistakably female.

My only thought would be to add more inflections, and perhaps open up your voice a little bit, it's tricky to get the voice into your head without it becoming nasal and "pinchy" but try to add a little more breath to your voice.

I'll work on "squeezing" my voice to reduce the resonance, I think that's the part I have the hardest time with and requires the most physical effort in my experience.
