The dollar shave club is pretty awesome. FYI, the title of the thread is just meant as a joke. But in all seriousness, it is a really cool company. The price for the whole package is awesome and the shaving butter I got smells like the beach. It feels good to not be using the pink disposable razors my mom usually gets. Not that I had any sort of dysphoria over them but now that I do have my own good razor, it definitely makes me feel more confident in my own masculinity. You guys should check out the video on the site. It's both awesome and hilarious.

And if you don't have that much hair to shave, you can always make it so they send you razor's every other month. And they of course can be used for other parts of your body.

I don't like those kinds of shavers, I use a wahl and I was thinking of making my own beard care kit since it's growing in now, but this is kind of cool. I love very light scents since I live with someone who can't handle strong smells, but maybe I can send this to someone for their b-day.

I've been using Dollar Shave Club for well over a year now and loved em. Actually switched to the 2 month razor deal though since I don't shave my legs and stuff anymore lmao

Awesome. I was reading up on it and it sounds like it'd be great. I'll have to get some of that once I'm shaving full time. What else do you use from them? I think I saw after shave on there as well.

I was going to say the same thing. Once you try them, you can't imagine going back. These multi-blade abominations are a marketing gimmick. "It has more blades in a row so it's obviously better!" Invest a little up-front in a good safety razor and then buy some good razor blades for it, pretty cheap in bulk. You can get them on Amazon. Also invest in a decent cream in a tube like Proraso. The stuph noted here doesn't seem bad but I wonder if you can order it separately and leave their razors.

So far, I like the Merkur blades the best of the ones I've tried but I heard Gillette Silver Blues are really good by a couple of people and they're really cheap in bulk. I'm planning to try them next.

I've been using just a safety razor and replaceable blades for some time now. I just got this full setup, far more than what you really need, for $90--Merkur safety razor, badger hair brush, the stand, and the bowl (you can just use a coffee mug). The brush and bowl is just for fluffing up the cream a bit and spreading it more evenly. Up to now, I've just been using my hand and it was fine, but I don't have coarse hair. I already had the Proraso cream. It's a big up-front investment but it's all stuph that will last many, many years. You really only need the safety razor (about $30) and the blades and I would recommend good cream like Proraso but you can use off-the-shelf stuph. I got 100 Gillette Silver Blue blades for about $20. Those will last me for years as well. Everything else is optional and you could always pick up the extra stuph later.

Oh we have some of those razors around the house. I thought they were some old hippie razors from another century.

Shaving is not that great. I would like it much better if I didn't have any facial and body hair and never had to shave.

Hehe. I guess they sort of are. FWIW, I've been using standard modern razors with 2 or 3 blades and little moisture strips and all those gimmicky things for my whole life until a couple friends of mine talked me into trying the old school stuph and now I'm sold. Just got a good friend of mine to try it as well. I just tried my new getup for the first time and here's my baby's-butt face. Admittedly, my facial hair is fairly thin and sparse to begin with. The redness is unrelated to shaving. That's just my skin being weird. It doesn't correspond at all to the spots that I shaved. I didn't have any irritation.



I like the Gillette Silver Blue blades. Thank goodness since I just bought 100 of them at about 22 cents each. Like I said before, the Merkur blade that came with my razor was really good but I couldn't find those for less than about 50 cents a piece! Even though I use the same blade for a number of shaves, I don't want to spend that much and there wasn't any noticeable difference to me to justify it. I've heard that different guys seem to have different preferences for blades depending on their particular skin and hair types. Guys with coarser beards change blades more often than I do.

If shaving lasted for a few days, I wouldn't mind so much, but when I have to do it every single day, I really hate it. I hated it ever since I was old enough to shave! I must go to waxing soon!

My mates told me about that dollar shave club.  I tried out some of the shave butter and it's amazing.  If I ordered anything from that site, it would be the shave butter.  My razor is perfect for me.

One of these days, I might even get brave and use the straight razor in my haircutting kit.  Maybe.

I can stand the crappy shave I get with disposables and I could never get the hang of double edged razors.

I think I am using Gilette Fusion because I didn't want to use disposable razors (they're atrocious) and there are essentially no other brands here in Sweden. Gilette has pretty much monopoly on all shaving products, both for men and women lmao. It's ok though, but it's a little difficult to get the hair just at the corner of my mouth.

And yes, using razors meant for men makes you feel better even though it theoretically shouldn't matter. It's quite dumb actually. I wish I wouldn't care so much sometimes.

I don't think that there is any real difference in the disposable razors for men and women. They look the same to me.

Not gonna lie this made me laugh so hard. That being said, I'm the guy that steals my mom's pink raspberry leg shaving cream for my face because I am too cheap to buy my own stuff.

This sounds like a really cool concept though. I like the idea of being able to get supplies regularly, I tend to procrastinate and stretch razors out way too long sometimes.
