When did your hips start to fill out?

Don't feel bad, Galaxy, as I can't even tell if I have any feminine hips at all with my weight gain. Everything went to the belly on me, too, except for the boobs, which is the only nice thing, at least!

I always had wide hips but it was not until I got on Finestaride to really block out all the testosterone it really allowed the estrogen to really redistribute the fat and put it in the places where I want it to be.

Like maybe the third or fourth year :O.  It took a long time for that to happen for me.  Sometimes it feels like HRT has done nothing at all for me in general, but then I see older pictures and I'm like, ok something did happen I guess.

Finasteride does not appear to block or affect testosterone levels. Rather, it seems to reduce its conversion to DHT through inhibition of 5 alpha reductase.
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience

On HRT since early 2004
Post-op since late 2005

Ok, it's been a while since I posted this topic and today I split a pair of work trousers. My trousers have been feeling a bit tight lately.

Progress? :D

I cant see much hips happening for me . but all my jeans are so tight at the upper thighs and bum that I have to literally jump to get them over.

Never. Seriously considering implants.

I'm at 2 months and just started to notice some fat on my hips. (Mostly just by feel, haven't compared pictures yet)

On a similar note, for the past 2-3 weeks I've had an odd soreness in my lower back (where the spine meets the hip/pelvi bone... Basically where it feels like I have  2" x4" flat plate of bone). It doesn't feel like typical lower back pain. I can't "pop" my spine there like normal, and yoga doesn't fix it. Most of the days I forget its there, but occasionally it's a minor annoyance. I am optimistic and thing it may be my hips widening. I'll see what my doctor says on Friday.

On reflection I think I probably just ate too much pizza ;)

I'm curious to see if my hips get any bigger here in the next year since I just started injections three weeks ago. I had pretty big gains in the past 2 years just being on pills so I'm excited to see if I get anymore changes in that area.

I hope I start hrt in time to see some real hip growth because I am still young.

Lately been gaining some weight on purpose and barely any of it goes to my belly. My butt and thighs are very noticeably growing. I have this entire pad of flesh that is forming on my hip that I can grab- where I used to only be able to do that with the tummy area

I'm at about 11 months on full strength HRT and about 6 months into progesterone and just within the last few weeks I've noticed my pants are getting tighter. I've always had a nice butt and there is more of it now. My boy jeans just don't fit right now, and when I'm wearing them (not for much longer!) I can see a hip curve on the outside that is new. My upper thighs have gotten larger too.

The last couple of weeks have been amazing.   Once the balls got kicked to the curb, things are really starting to take shape.

Glad to hear things are coming along for you all nicely, ladies :)

7 months here now, and my upper things are getting a bit bigger, and I'm getting little pads of fat growing too. I still look pretty hip lite in a tight skirt but things slowly moving forward.

I had a full body massage at a friend's spa last weekend (romomatic oils - lovely!) and she said it's very noticeably different from the last time I went two months ago. I'm getting something of a waist too ;)

7 months on hrt. Tiny hip growth. Small breast growth. Decided to give up trying to get curves by plumping up since it goes first to my belly before touching my hips and breast. I like my skinny curves at the waist and how athletic I feel on a low fat mainly whole plant foods high carb vegan diet. Being light and athletic has helped me feel emotionally much better and less focused on my dysphoria and less vulnerable to instances of transphobia and misgendering. So I'm going with what makes me feel better. Hopefully eventually some fat will somehow reach my face but I get really depressed when I eat high fat so not going to do that or to be exact I got my high fat treats down to one course per week. Waistline is gradually coming down and looking more feminine without large hips.

My waist has retreated and my rear has gotten bigger. I'm on LD and going my own way under dr supervision so it's not apples to apples but I have a half inch on my hips (mostly rear I think) in 8 months of meds (stepped up over that time), and 1 inch decrease in my waist mostly on the sides.  It's enough to show some curves with the right A line skirt, skinny jeans or properly fitted shirt. I won't be mistaken for a curvaceous bombshell but  it does give some feminine form even making boy clothes (still part time) look slightly odd.

Just weighed myself today and I'm up to my highest weight since transitioning (142 @ 5'8"). In February, I was 125.

I am amazed at how differently the weight is distributing now at 20 months instead of the last time I tried this at 7 months. A year ago (shortly after I had VFS) I came back from Seoul at the same weight of 142, except it was all in my belly. This time however, it's barely any belly at all.. My friends keep telling me how big my butt is getting, I take it as a compliment ;)

Looking at myself in a mirror, it's a whole other ballgame now. I think for the first time I'm going to have to buy new pants.

For anyone upset with their fat distribution and less than a year on HRT, don't be so hard on yourself. I have been on a megadose of pellet implants for 20 months and it is just now really starting to distribute in a new pattern. This takes time!

I can't wait till my hips and butt start to fill out.

I am hoping to get some hot hips and some junk in my trunk.

There is a woman on a show I watch that has gorgeous hips and I would love to have hips like hers.

OMG!!! I can't wait.

I'm nine months in and the only way my butt and hips fill out is if my belly fills out twice as much so for now I'm keeping my body fat low.
