4 glorious hours of sailing on Long Island Sound - It was a beautiful day with just enough wind and being a weekday means not too many jerks out on the water

be well everyone

I came out to another friend today! She was really supportive and excited for me! Slowly working up the courage to tell my family, but each day it get's a little easier. :3

Awwh! Congrats!  :icon_joy: I'm still working up the courage to tell family too so I'm in the same boat.

I started volunteering at a bird care centre today, which was really fun. I got to prepare food for the birds and bring it to them, wash dishes, do laundry, clean a cage, carry some birds into a different area, etc. I've been looking into conserving species and taking care of animals as a career, so it's nice to get some experience. They had chickadees, robins, crows, ravens, ducks, Canadian geese...it was great. I also saw a monarch butterfly while I was hanging up laundry. I can't wait to go back ;D

Might be an interesting job field. I like "professional procrastinator" I can relate to that!

Well I really like it so far. It's somewhat therapeutic, which is always nice.

LOL... On the way home from my endo appointment yesterday the shuttle driver kept talking about the actress Teri Garr from the Mel Brooks films, particularly the Young Frankenstein movie - But neither of us could remember the actresses name right away so she looked it up on her smart phone

I like the Mel Brooks films but was wondering why she kept bringing it up - Finally she said that I reminded her of the actress and showed me the picture... "See?"

That was a new one on me, but I'll take it
The main things to remember in life are Love, Kindness, Understanding and Respect - Always make forward progress

Superficial fanny kissing friends are a dime a dozen, a TRUE FRIEND however is PRICELESS

Just being was enough to make me happy today. Even doing mundane housework couldn't bring me down.   I just can't believe the difference between me now and me two years ago when I started hitting rock bottom.

In the morning, I will finally be legally female and my old name will be officially retired forever.

I can't believe "he" will be gone forevermore.  Goodbye, my depressed, miserable, fake guy self.   Hello, happy Jill.

Now that I'm essentially out the other side, what shall I do next?  I feel so envigorated and excited that the next chapter of my life is about to begin, but all I can see now are blank pages.

Hugs to all,
Jill

Was able to help out a trans girl that just came to Canada as a refugee from Syria by offering her my spare bedroom, it makes me happy to be able to help others :)

Nice to have a new roommate sometimes. Even better if you end up being long time friends. Do you speak the same language? I know, I'm a tad nosy.

I don't really speak any Arabic but her English is good enough for us to communicate, I'm also happy that my girlfriend is OK with me letting someone stay while she is away.

I'm ecstatic because we got to the top of a waitlist for a rent-controlled building. We would only have to pay a percentage of our income, which means I won't be homeless if my kid gets arrested or needs to spend time in an inpatient facility. We might be disqualified if her violence comes up, but that could happen anywhere, and every lawyer I've spoken to has said that it would be unreasonable to disclose that kind of thing and choose homelessness over nondisclosure. She's usually not violent, especially since we got a cat. Scaring the cat bothers her more than any human reaction ever does. We do get to keep the cat.

I don't know how to move, though. I only have one adult around to help, so I usually get hurt trying to carry stuff. It looks like we would get to stay there without rent increases as long as we pay rent and follow the rules though so if I manage it we might never be homeless again. If they let me wait a month or two to save up I might hire movers instead of getting my fancy computer fixed.

Lol I shouldn't open my mail this late at night. Now I'm all riled up and business hours ended five hours ago so I can't get any questions answered.

This may sound wacky but,..have you thought to ask people like your social worker if they know of anyone who may help? Sometimes they know people and sometimes you can get help moving with city or county services if you have a household member such as your daughter.

Today's dose of positive was that I found out Weird Al's new album ended up hitting #1 in the music billboards charts! I thought that was so epic to find out. It was his first #1 album too. Even though it had nothing to do about me, it really made me so happy for him. He really had a hard time as a child, with his parents death. So I'm really happy for this event for him.

There was also my black spotted tights arrived today that I bought online, so that good too ^-^

We don't really have a social worker per se, but her therapist tends to fill the duties of that role and I can ask her what help might be available. It would make a big difference if we even had somebody to distract/calm Leah while furniture is being moved.

We also have a developmental disabilities case manager, but usually all she can offer is flex funds that require me to find a person who I trust with my kid and who can pass a background check, and if I had friends like that I'd already be pulling favors or paying them out of pocket to help with stuff.

Thanks, it hadn't occurred to me to put out feelers for what official help might be available. Last time I moved was at least a couple years ago, and I had more close friends at the time so it was less daunting.

I'm still super happy. ;D
