Transgender woman attacked in D.C.

'Washington, D.C., police are investigating an assault on a transgender woman in the northwest section of the city. Witnesses told WRC-TV, an NBC affiliate, that a group of young men who loiter in the neighborhood attacked the woman'

My stomach started hurting just from reading the blurb.  I didn't follow the link.

This is why you don't leave the house without a gun, or stun gun or at the very least pepper spray or something to defend yourself. There are always going to be people willing to %&@* with you. You have to take the responsibility of defending yourself, or you will be a victim.

The worst part was that she felt compelled to avoid going to the hospital to seek treatment.
That is very sad.
