A Bellflower base church and minister have filled a lawsuit claiming that city councilmembers have actively engaged in a pattern of discrimination and that their religious freedoms are being violated because the congregation overwhelmingly consists of gay, lesbian, bisexuals and tans men and women

I used to live in Bellflower, and I can believe that the city council is stalling because they do not have the courage to make any decision.  When I lived there, there were a very prolific number of right leaning religious organizations, a couple of which have changed some element of direction, but still they are a strong political consideration. This piece is journalistically waffling, and does not give any real example of a stall contained in the actual complaint, which they could have gotten a copy of, and thus is more likely to give residents ammunition against the church. 

  The place rang a bell, so I looked it up.  I lived in an unincorporated area with an Artesia address at the time north of Carson and Pioneer about 1955 to 1960.  Where my apartments, a dairy farm and a chicken farm were is where the Hawaiian Gardens admin building is today.  Bellflower was across the San Gabriel from me.  The highway did not exist yet, but the neighbors did talk about the impending freeway before I left.  I have read national articles from that area over the years that keep that place interesting.
