Yulaiyre

so um, hi.

My name is Yulaiyre, just call me Yula for short if you want. it's not my real name but that's a secret.

as i type this thread i am 1 year 2 months 15 days and 9 hours on HRT. (i have the date and time written down)

so yeah, hi.
i'm really bad at these.

I like videogames, snowboarding, skiing, rambling, mountain biking...as long as it has a mountain!

oh...except videogmes, but mountains are cool there too.

hmm...life lessons i've learned since my transition:

1. Bend your knees when leaning down to pick something up
2. Close your eyes when putting hairspray in
3. Mascara will inevitably go in your eye, just deal with it
4. Hair is important, look after it
5. Squats are a godsend
6. zits/spots on your boobs hurt like hell
7. Dont have sex with friends, not a good idea, ever.
8. Make sure you get an honest opinion about how you look, it's not nice going out looking like you were doodled on with a crayon.
9. Research is fun! It's not but it's important. Fashion, hairstyles, what cuts of clothes to wear, make-up, all that good stuff.
10. Try not to go out alone.
11. Good luck getting your points heard.
12. Wind is your enemy
13. Wind is evil
14. Wind stole your favourite teddy bear.
15. make sure you get nice clothes for winter, being a girl in winter is cold.

that's all i can think of right now....hi!
I can't believe I made this up myself!

Yula

Its great to have you join our community.  Your advice and learning are priceless and so are the many current and former threads.  Many wise and experienced folk have shared their journeys and perspectives and the information is always accessible via the search function.  On Susans there are plenty of friendly folk at a similar stage to you and I suspect that they will be along shortly to welcome you, share their advice and to thank you for yours.

Safe travels

I hope you don't mind but I just tottled by to say that I absolutely adore the title to this introduction, it's wonderful. I hope you have a truly amazing time here, you seem like a very vibrant and (judging by your hobbies) admirably adventurous person so I look forward to seeing what your posts contribute! Take care and wishing the best.

Oh, and my hair agrees that wind is vile.
"In the middle of the journey of our life, I came to myself in a dark wood, where the straight way was lost. It is a hard thing to speak of, how wild, harsh and impenetrable that wood was, so that thinking of it recreates the fear. It is scarcely less bitter than death: but, in order to tell of the good that I found there, I must tell of the other things I saw there." - Dante Alighieri

You're quite welcome! and as for the title...yeah I kind of just posted what i was thinking, i do that a lot, people say i don't have a filter from my brain to my mouth, it's a problem, i need help...or a muzzle. either one will do the trick i guess ^^

Thank you! I love making new friends, and yeah im pretty excitable to be honest. To be honest, i'm not sure if I am adventurous or i just really love mountains. it's a mystery.

beware the wind.
living in a coastal city is a nightmare.

But, but.... I love wind... and the cold :(
I refuse to live in fear! Come hell or high water I will not back down! I will live my life!
But you have no life.
Ha. Even that won't stop me.

I will protect even those I hate, so long as it is right.

Hi Yula, welcome :)
Um... your point 14? Wind stole my hair. Well... I'm pretty sure it was the wind, but Jessica can attest to my usual level of confusion. I think. I don't know. Maybe.

lol, I was just explaining how bad wind was for my hair to a friend, he prefers rolling windows down in the car to AC, but I need AC!

Welcome Yula, my name is Vera and I am pleased to meet you :)
