I'm considering buying a silkn flash and go and am wondering if anyone has experience with this device. I have dark brown hair and medium tone skin. Do you think this unit will work for me?

I looked into it, in terms of amazon reviews, and there are mixed views... For some people it works, for others it doesn't.

Plus it's not a permanent hair removal system, it just sends your hair to sleep so to speak.

Quite pricey, no definite results. I didn't bother buying it.

I did one of the silkn models, but I forget which one.  Then I had professional laser hair removal.  It was an absolute night and day difference.

My suggestion would be to skip it and put the money toward the professional.

Thanks for the comments ladies. I should probably have mentioned I'm in guy/stealth mode a vast majority of the time.  I can't really schedule professional laser sessions and was hoping this would be a way to reduce the amount of time I spend shaving.

Stealth still allows me to shave most of my body. Is there another alternative I should explore?

Even though you live in your "guy" mode, what's the reason you wouldn't go for a laser hair removal? You're afraid of being judged by the esthetician? or friends?

Your question is an excellent one and very fair.  It is also a very scary question for me. The answer is far more complex than I can give in a post, but it is not fear of judgement by friends or the esthetician that prevents me from making the appointment.

As I said it is far more complicated than that, but thank you for asking a question that caused me to look inside.

Well. I bought the Silk'n Glide which supposedly has like 50.000 flashes on the cartridge so it's supposed to be enough for finishing a persons treatment, I started using it on all of my body, and Oh my Gawd it takes such a long long time to do your legs, arms, lower back and face, and when I mean long I mean 3 to four hours long. They say its supposed to be really fast on the first level of intensity, but that level is honestly useless, I have white skin and dark hair so I was able to use it at the max level of intensity and the pulses take like 4 or 5 seconds to reload in between, so just figure that out... I  used it for about two months and I did notice visible changes on my legs and my arms, not really on my face, but I was kinda happy, and then one day while I was doing my legs the ->-bleeped-<-ing thing exploded on me, it was the light bulb I think that broke and produced a very scary pop sound, fortunately I didn't get any injuries or whatsoever and I immediately sent it back asking for another one or a refund. They took forever to answer back just to tell me that they weren't sure if it was the device's fault or a consequence of irresponsible use from my part which was very offensive to me, they told me they could send me another one for half the price If I wanted so, but I flipped the finger at them and moved on. I honestly would recommend that you get a professional service, even if it is pulsated light (IPL) I'm currently on IPL again but I go to a professional facility and I'm having really nice results so far :) but I wouldn't bother buying an IPL or laser device mostly cause they're very unreliable.

I've bought an IPL device a couple of years ago. It was a complete waste of money, the only thing that it did, was to slow down the growth of the hair, but the hair was still growing. The sessions were veeeeery veeeery long (took about an hour to make just one leg!), and there are some parts of your body that you simply CANT do by yourself because you can't reach them or are very difficult to reach. The laser treatments was a complete different story, I'm seeing permanent results and I'm very happy with it. The sessions are very faster (about 30/40 minutes my whole body except arms and face), and there is someone else doing the treatment so I dont have to make Yoga positions to reach the "hart to reach" parts of my body

Dont waste time and money with home IPL devices.

Hope this helps, sorry for my english
