Does anyone have experience with Dr. Salgado or the UMiami plastics department? I'm particularly interested in black men's experiences. I only know of one man who's seen Salgado, but his method seems promising.

I saw a black guy in Philly (gave the presentation in Phallo) who had Dr Salgado, and know another black guy going to him.The guy in Philly said that he does not ever say "you don't need one that big" (and so on).  Of interest, I suppose is he uses integra on the donor site which is good for scarring and filling in of skin. Look for burns and integra and you'll get some hits. He didn't know of anybody else using it in the US.
He had better filling in of the donor site earlier than other guys I saw, so it looks promising.
