Hey guys im Tisha a 20 yr old MTF , ive known i was different since i was around 7 years old , umm i assumed i was homosexual from 7 till bout 19 yrs old where i then read about people born with gender identity disorder and how alot of what transgendered people go through related to me , it was a bit overwhelming at first and quite confusing to come to terms that i was truly born as a female and the fact that my genitalia didnt match my inner femininity growing , however as time went by i accustomed myself to my true gender identity role altho i still live in stealth only around parents , family and work i still consider myself a woman to everyone even when i pretend to be a '' male '' i still know deep down that this is just a temporary way to get by till i feel totally ready to fully come out to everyone ellse.. i came to find out about this website from one of my new transgender friends charlotte who is one of youtube's many transgender vloggers.. and i feel that being on this site i can HOPE to meet alot of new and interesting people and connect and make alot of new friendships.. since i am so introverted id like to be able to start a new social life and try to get myself out more and have people that can be good friends to me and i can be a good friend to them ! life lessons i learn is that you can't force people to fully understand you or your situation and sometimes i think i go a bit over board on trying to make myself known to the point it can become a bit useless because alot of people will deliberatly not want to understand , im also learning that it takes alot of courage to be my true self in a society that is so judgemental and that what people say shouldn't affect me , im trying to grow stronger and still evolve and feel comfortable , what do i find special about the world ? umm the fact that im not alone on my journey along the transition path and that i can always say that there is someone in the same situation as myself i think since we are all in the same situation its best we all stick together be it MTFS or FTMS we should be there through thick and thin regardless because without the support of each other we'd all be somewhat lost im sure.. anyways i really hope to meet alot of you and im glad im here !

Hi, Tisha!  Welcome to the forums.  I hope that you find it fun and useful to be here.  I have come to believe that in any given project, start-up is a pain-in-the-butt, so don't be disheartened as you sort things out.

Hi Tisha,
Welcome to Susan's! i saw you in chat yesterday so you obviously know about that. It sounds like you are pretty far along the self-acceptance path and come here with a pretty good idea of who you are and that's great. I think you'll fit in great here. You said you were shy and I think maybe coming on here and meeting new friends could help you break out of your shell. I think it's important to have real life friends too, but you can definitely make new ones here and help build a healthy support group. I look forward to seeing you around :) Meghan

Hi Tisha and welcome to Susan's. Yes as Meghan said it does appear that you have progressed quite far along the self acceptance, that's a big step along the journey. I have no way to know how old you are but I get the feeling you are fairly young yet. If that is so it is a blessing that you have decided to start your journey at a reasonably early age.

Me I am 62 years old and transitioned 7 years ago and had SRS 4 years ago. I have been away from this board for 6years and just stumbled over it again a couple weeks ago and have decided to stick around for a while.
