Wondering what your measurements are and starting a place where we can record our measurements and track them as hormones, exercise or other factors change us.

Just had to measure myself to order some dresses online, and figured I'd post my current numbers:

Chest 95cm / 37"
Waist 80cm / 31"
Hips 100cm / 39"

Adding weight/height for reference here:

Weight 82 kg / 180 pounds
Height 183cm / 6ft

Been meaning to measure myself since it's been awhile. Alrighty so I just measured comparing old measurements, I lost an inch off my waist and gained a half inch in my bust. If I make it super tight I can get to 27" in my waist but thats just uncomfy.

In inches
Bust 37.5
Waist 28
Hip 39.5

Oh and forgot to add my current weight is about 144 at 5'10, I'm trying to gain a bit more weight, like 6 extra lbs or so.

The day I started HRT my measurements were

Bust: 35"
Waist: 31"
Hips: 37"

I'll post an update at the 3 month mark ;)

Edit: I went back and measured again because I wasn't sure that I'd had the tape parallel to the floor.

I'm just under 5' 9" and I weigh 155 lbs

Chest: 38"
Waist: 32"
Hips: 38"

0.84

If I can gain a little in the hips from HRT or lose a little around the waist then I'll "technically" reach hourglass proportions :D

I'm on 64kg at 1,72m (sorry for european measurements)

Do your measure with "bust" your boobs or the chest?
  •

antonia

Just to clarify here are the definitions and the ratio is waist to the average of hips/bust:

Bust: Place the measuring tape across your nipples and measure around the largest part of your chest. Be sure to keep the tape parallel to the floor.

Chest: Place the measuring tape just under your breasts/pecs and measure around the torso while keeping the tape parallel to the floor.

Waist: Place the measuring tape about a 1/2 inch above your bellybutton (at the narrowest part of your waist) to measure around your torso. When measuring your waist, exhale and measure before inhaling again.

Hips: Place the measuring tape across the widest part of your hips/buttocks and measure all the way around while keeping the tape parallel to the floor.

Well my boyfriend didnt want to have sex with me because of my anorexia he was yelling at me that my stomach falls in too heavily and he is really worried about it but I just cant stand belly fat on me this is just not possible for me. But I feel like if I would get weight again it would stick to my belly aswell so dont be worried about that its just normal. I wish my fat would only go on my bewbs then I would MAAAAYYBEEEE think about getting a tiny bit of weight I dont know lawl. Dunno how your thoughts about belly fat are but since I am trans and I am pretty tall for a woman (1.78 metres) I try to look slim by being thin since my bones arent that tiny and whenever I have a little bit just a tiny bit of weight on it I look like a dyke.

You have to be careful though, without fat the body will not allow your breasts to develop and you risk a number of health complications.

The way the body works is that it will delay or halt breast development until it believes the environment favourable to bear children and for them to survive, in cis women the body can also stop a girl from having her periods for the same reasons. It's a natural defence and energy conservation mechanism, from an evolutionary standpoint if there isn't enough food and energy to go around then is very doubtful a child can be successfully carried to term and fed throughout it's childhood so why waste some of that precious energy on boobs.

When I got diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes my body had burned all the fat (I could not even sit down because it hurt so bad when my bones rested on chairs), also all my muscle was gone since my body had cannibalized itself for energy, I was probably around 75kg and I looked horrible, like a walking skeleton. I'd say currently my ideal weight is probably around 81-82kg which sounds high but that's just my build and bone structure, everyone is different.

My plan (when I eventually get onto HRT..) is to eat a lot and exercise, hoping that aerobic/anaerobic exercise will cause me to generally shed weight whilst HRT will help the weight I'm putting back on go to the right places.

Ahlexandrah, having seen your pictures in "You look fabulous" I can say you have a stomach most of us here would envy (including me). If you chose to do so you I think you could get away with eating a little more. If you're not happy with how that is going you could always stop again. I apologise if it sounds like I'm telling you what to do :(

For me that sounds like the best plan too, just came back from a 100km cycling trip, now I can munch on nuts and sunflower seeds, good fats :)

It does not work.

Hey Galaxy, would you be willing to elaborate and share your experience?

So far I've been able to keep the weight off but I've only been on hormones for 2 weeks, just wondering what to expect.

I'll work my ratio out soon (what does it mean by the way? :) )

My weight is currently hovering around 69-70 kg, height 6'1" /185 cm (tall bitch lol).

Hips 94 cm / 37 inches
Waist 68 cm / 26.75 inches
Bust 89 cm / 35 inches (great to finally have something I can call a bust even if they are tiny lol)

Kinda skinny but it's more just kind of long bone structure.
All these years, all these memories, there was you. You pull me through time.

The ratio is equal to    [(Waist/Bust) + (Waist/Hips)] / 2

In my case this was    [(32/38) + (32/38)] / 2

or since they were both the same just 32 divided by 38 XD

I find myself in the strange position that although, I've dropped a fair bit of weight in the last 6 months, fat I'm gaining now is already going to my chest despite not having started HRT. I'm getting a little worried that it might impede natural breast development :(
