So my neighbor has a pool and she asked me to come swimming because all my neighbors and me were already playing in the sprinkler and soon as the other boys took there shirts off I instantly got dysphoric. I juat feel its really unfair that I can't enjoy myself because of how I was born. And I haven't been swimming uears because of it. And no I don't wanna use a rashgaurd or old binder I don't even have one or a sports bra. I really wish I had a flat chest idk just venting I guess.

Save up your money for surgery. I didn't swim for 6 years.

hrmm the closest thing I can think of is buying a compression tank-top for underwater, but those tend to be pricey. If swimming is really important for you though, maybe you could save up for one? I usually wear a swim-suit and a shirt over it to cover my body, and no one really asks questions. It's quite common, so there's not much to worry about in that aspect. Sorry I can't really help :embarrassed:

I know it sucks. My neighbour invites us to swim in his large pool and has parties all the time and of course I can only watch.

Honestly I always wore a shirt when swimming I hated showing off my chest.  Even before I admitted I was transgendered.  so if people are going to disrespect for that its there own insecurities.  just get out there and have some fun not everyone wears the same things so why should swimming be any different.

Yea you have a point but ill choose to wait until top surgery I mean I'd never go swimming with my friends cuz they'd question. Yes I've always worn shirts in the pool but its very awkward and I'd just like to be shirtless tbh.

^.^ what ever makes you feel comfortable just trying to make things a little bearable until then :P

I'm in the same vote every time I'm out with friends at the lake doing other things they always like  to go swimming afterwards and I just don't feel comfortable in a swim suit yet.  it feels like your missing out on so many things.  but that day will come !!! ^.^

It really does suck. I've been swimming with a binder and tee-shirt but it definitely makes the dysphoria worse.

I haven't been swimming for years because of body dysphoria either, even though as a kid it was one of my favorite things to do. It really sucks but I can't imagine swimming until I can do it shirtless and that's probably gonna take a few more years. I just hate that my body restricts me from doing something I really like.. sometimes I feel pretty dang bitter about it and my dysphoria gets worse when I see (cis)guys shirtless. ;_; Damn being born like this, i just want to enjoy life and have my body match my identity, it would make things so much easier... *sigh*
