So I was out today with fairly andro clothes (a guys t shirt,a black tight jean and all star shoes) ,me  and my dear decided to go get some frozen yogurt, I went to order , the lady there had a full view of my body, I also spoke to her with the manliest voice I could produce and had 0 make up on whatsoever...

As it was natural I thought she could tell I am a bio male, but then later she referred to us as girls

Met a girl who knows Lots of trans men. Like is super exposed to trans issues and has seen people in all stages of transition. She can't tell that I'm trans.

My first was about 3 weeks into HRT.  I got stopped for having a light out in the back of my car and the cop gave me crap for giving him the wrong license XD

I've passed since about a month or two on HRT but my first full moment though when I felt like I had 'arrived' was when I was waiting around for a friend in a store and a guy started asking me for a woman's opinion on what kind of barbies to get his 2 year old daughter XD I told him I didn't know it'd been a while since I was that little and didn't have kids, but that was great  

Finally got a nice one for this thread! I'm 10 months hrt and not full time yet due to my work and still needing to wear a wig.

Whilst at home I was sat down after coming back from therapy, had a playsuit, wig and makeup on so was presenting overtly feminine.

Two of my mother's friends arrived -  they've known me since I was little and know I'm trans but I haven't seen them for a year or so.

We had a chat for 20 mins with them

They then left and my mum went to wave them off.

My mum then came back in and said, "Peter has just asked me who that girl was."

Cue massive grin.

I think this counts.  I was at an evening social of the lesbian subgroup of a learning disabled singles group.  One of the staff mentioned a trans-women in the group - not present.  One of the clients started to misgender her and criticise her, the staffer started to tell her off for being rude and disrespectful.  I just didn't take part in the argument but I was just opposite the two of them.

When you see a transgender person on TV and the person next to you goes "man, where do people like this even come from? That's so weird. Although, who knows, maybe I have seen a transgender person somewhere and never knew because I didn't look close enough."

Haha yes...maybe the transgender people are closer than you think. LIKE RIGHT BESIDE YOU ON THIS COUCH.

I kind of smiled to myself a little, yeah. It has been at least three times now, at this very job, where the topic of transgender comes up and people say something along the lines of "you can always tell" and misgender trans people, but never misgender me. What surprises me is how often it enters conversation, part of me got paranoid for a while, wondering if people were bringing it up to "test" me, but I think it's just one of those issues that's becoming increasingly out there and controversial, kind of like gay marriage was about ten years ago here.

It's nice to know that I pass, and I trust the one person who knows to keep it to herself, but I have to wonder what would happen if my stealth was somehow compromised at this job.

My voice is androgynous just like my body is, both with a little more femme flair I guess

I had to buy a buy a bike today and the person helping me -mind you it was pretty busy as its a popular place and summer- treated me like a lady, we just casually laughed about my previous bike being stolen and his "wow, amazing legs young lady' comment when I mentioned my height being an issue with finding a nice bike was an internal blush moment. I enjoyed the chat and it made me feel comfy, which doesnt happen often

Sometimes my voice worries me more than my appearance, sometimes vice versa.....there's always something to worry about ^^

What is amazing me here lately is how many people I'm running into who knew me before transition, some who are even transphobic, who are treating me like a lady. I haven't changed my hair color or anything. Yet it's like they don't recognize me. One even stuck his foot way down his throat saying: "I know the guy who used to own this truck -er, well, he wasn't really a guy, um, a (I won't repeat what he said next for it is very offensive, out of respect for everyone), yea, that's what he, er, she was." He was very confident he was talking to a different person. This happened at a car wash with individual stalls closed off from the main highway, so I politely let him continue believing I was a different person for my own safety. He was much bigger and would have made two of me so I thought it best not to burst his bubble.
