AWESOME!!!!!

I'll spare the going through the whole conversation today.

A while back I posted that my mom asked if I was gay, and in midst panic I tried to explain to her I'm not gay but transgendered. We didn't say much the rest of the car ride until we got home and she hugged me saying she loved me not matter what. It really put me in the spotlight and that was terrifying and in the end we both cried into eachother's shoulders no words being said.

Well since then nothing has been said about it, it's almost like it never happened. Which is good to an extent but I've been worrying if it's just brushing it under the rug type deal lately and on the way home I had to do it. I sent my mom this picture of me:

Her response right away was "I don't know if you look more like your sister or me."

She just asked me how I felt and if I was comfortable and then Almost immediately we're talking about makeup and hair. Oh and not getting the waterproof mascara lol.

I kinda put it out there that I'm her daughter and she just told me son or daughter she loves me and just wants me to be happy and she said that in that picture it's the happiest she's seen me in many years.

I drove home like an enormous weight had been lifted and even now I'm on cloud 9. I don't what possessed me to do it, but I had to I just had to, and I couldn't be happier that I did.

That is an amazing story right there! ;D My mom is one of very few people in my life that I don't speak of with it (she's got issues with her own self) I won't give up hope that a moment like this can happen for me, but nonetheless I'm prepared if it doesn't go that way. *fingers crossed*

Congratulations Jasriella !

You are very lucky to have this support from your mum.  I am a little in awe of your bravery in sending her your picture.

I am very happy for you  :D

I couldn't sleep last night. I had the silliest grin driving home and then continued talking well into the night.

Definitely, I'm so glad I did this early on instead of getting it all at once.

The quote in my signature was from General Omar N. Bradley, "Bravery is the capacity to perform properly when scared half to death." I was certainly terrified but I just had this sudden drive that this has to be done and it's now or never. I can take jumping off a bridge and whatever may happen while I'm in the military so why shouldn't I be able to handle this? This is the hardest things I've ever done and they're getting easier and better each step of the way.

Yesterday I took it a step further and told my sister and we ended up staying up till midnight talking about boobs and makeup lol. I've never talked to my sis that long without an argument happening or something and here the first thing she said after I told her was she started suggesting wigs for me.

That's awesome! My sister and I have talked. She's actually the only one in my family that seems to fully support it, that I've talked to about it. Though my sister has issues being honest with people her own self on a regular basis, so we don't speak too often. Very happy for you! Makes we wanna try an reach out to my mom, although I think the initial conversation will begin with me writing her a letter, so that I don't get cut off trying to explain myself. lol I find this story rather inspiring.  :icon_mrgreen:

*Hugs*

Somehow our conversation started at hair, then boyfriends, to makeup, and then our boobs lol. It's like I got a best friend back. My sis and I have never talked that long before without arguing lol, it was wonderful. She wants to do my makeup and hair.

We might be having a girl's day out on Labor Day if I get it off from work. For now I'm just going to enjoy getting to be closer with my sis and mom.
