Great pass Nicolette, it probably made the rest of your day a lot easier because I know the pain and discomfort is overwhelming the rest of your senses at that time.

Funny, I failed to mention the pain and discomfort, but not intentionally and not because I breezed through. Just, I totally forgot about it. I can barely recall it now. Who needs those memories, anyway.

Multipass!

I am a little bummed I won't get to pull this on my old boss.  My speaker bio was posted on the conference site a few days ago under my new name, so I suspect that gag has gone.

Don't assume that! The gag may still be there because honestly, how many attendees actually read every bio? I almost never did back in the 1990s when I attended lots of conferences. Not because I'm mean but because that rarely interested me. I simply assumed that the speakers chosen had proven their qualifications to whomever chose them. On rare occasions I would read a bio but it was rare and I'll bet that I was pretty typical of conference attendees.
The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.

You know you pass when.. You're sick, unkempt, in a thrown-together outfit, without a scrap of makeup on, completely hoarse from said illness...
...you introduce yourself to an FTM coworker, tell him you saw him on the LGBTQIA board...

...and he just assumes you're 'somewhere in the [lgbt] group.'

Sorry, dude - your T-dar's malfunctioning a bit. ^_^
Don't lose who you are along the path to who you want to be.

Ended up outing myself to someone because I needed advice and she's leaving in two weeks. I said "I'm transgender" and she goes "so you dress in female clothes?"

OMG that is so cool, especially coming from a female most of whom are ten times more discerning than men are! Kudos!

When i get up and look in the mirror and like what i see, she is the only person who's opinion matters.

It's not that I need any affirmation of this misnomer philosophy of "passing" in any way, shape or form at all, but when I ended up in a long checkout queue at Spotlight (sewing/fabrics retailer) over the weekend, and had preschool and infant/primary school children talking to me as though I was their mother, I guess they saw something in me that conveyed to them, how I perceive myself.

Children are the first ones to find the 'chinck' in our armour.

Keep digging down in your own psyche to find your 'sweet spot'.

You're comment in the first line is so true. Anyway, good observation on your part about how children perceive things, so it looks like  (pardon the expression) a pass to me!

I have gained a lot of confidence in myself lately so I went out in public for the first time without makeup on. People still used the right pronouns :)

Never really wear much make up anymore unless I'm going out at night. I do thou use a bit of BB cream each day, if only its for the sunscreen in it.
Yes! I'm single
And you'll have to be pretty f'ing amazing to change that

Very interesting situations and scenarios that we find our selves in and it is awesome reading about them.

I had a totally unexpected thing happen 2 weeks ago at a family function in a rural farming community in redneck country where the community was also involved about 100 people, a gift opening for a wedding. There was a number of people that I had not seen in years and none had seen me since I started transition. I assumed people knew about me but they had no seen me yet, being a small town. This experience happened a couple of times and it caught me a little off guard.

I would be talking to someone, I knew who they where and I thought they knew who I was. About 5-10 minutes into the conversion I realized that they thought I was genuinely my sister who is about 6 years younger than me. I was shocked and totally thrilled at the same time, it was a cool experience. I then realized the gossip was not as pervasive as I thought it would be.

Well what do you expect?  You are a very attractive young woman and never mind what you used to be.
