Every area can be a bit different and a lot of it does depend on the therapist/psych. and of course the prescribing Dr.

Hmmmm,  :eusa_think:  That's been quite awhile ago, but if I remember correctly it took about a year the first time

But when I needed to re-up on my scripts awhile back I learned that my original Dr.s had moved their practices and I had to find a new psych. and a new Dr.

I was was really nervous about that because I live in a rather religious area so it took a few months to find someone who would even consider seeing me for such a thing

My new psych. wrote a recommendation and my new endocrinologist checked things over and wrote my new scripts

All and all other than some transportation issues things went fairly well and probably took about six months altogether to get round two going

I went the way of informed consent, or something like that.  0 days of therapy

About three months. My therapist's HRT letter said we'd had 12 sessions, but it was really only 8 or 9...

No therapy, going informed consent but I think I need one to sort out my lack of motivation.

I didn't start therapy until about 14 months after I started hrt.  I never was good at doing things in the right order..

I started HRT directly after my first therapy session. For me everything was clear in this moment.

I was offered the letter in my fourth session, but I held off for almost five years before starting. Guess change is just harder for some of us older folks... still, I wish I could have done this fourty years ago.

I started weekly therapy 7-16-14 and had my first visit with the NP about three weeks ago. I just saw her again this past Wednesday and she approved me for HRT. I should have the meds in hand today after work. My therapist sent her a letter stating she felt I met the criteria for HRT this week.

It was one month for me to get on a therapeutic dose of E, and no letter was necessary.  It was one session, one call to the endo, a 2 1/2 week wait for the appointment, a week for the lab work, and almost another week before I had the prescription in hand because my endo is so busy.

I decided to go permaJill about 2 months later, which required a letter and a total of 12 sessions.

About 2 months for me (weekly therapy sessions.)

It's up to your therapist and your endo, but it's also up to you.  Don't let them push you into anything you don't feel ready for, and don't let them get all "extreme gatekeeper" either (although if they're telling you no, it's worth trying to understand why.)

2 years. My therapist wasn't a bottleneck or anything, nor was she a gatekeeper. That's just how long it took me.
Started HRT in October, 2014. Orchiectomy in August, 2015. Full-time in July, 2016!

If you need an understanding ear, feel free to PM me.
