You have highlighted the one point has been troubling me so much. How do you choose?
IMHO, unfortunately for most transsexuals, the only "choice" seems to be how long we want to TRY and delay the inevitable.
Younger TSs often transition early, as they learn about their options early on and live in a much more tolerant society.
Older TSs... well, we usually have a life established by the time we realize we CAN do something about all this. It then takes time for the NEED to overwhelm the FEARS of losing all that.
But, it nearly ALWAYS does. I've posted before I honestly don't know of a more powerful force than GID. It has no sense of mercy, no compassion, and is absolutely relentless in pressuring us to transition - no matter what the cost.
The sad thing is most people wait until life just has no meaning anymore and they can't go on living another day as a male. They get TIRED. The GID wears them out. And they don't "choose" to transition, it just... happens. All other options and diversions have expired, and the only thing you CAN do is transition, or... end it all.
At least that's how it played out for me, and it seems for many others here as well.
Just the fact that you're here and asking these questions... I feel for you, I really do. It's the start. Once you start looking into yourself, it's very, VERY hard to stop now...
