Transitioning and starting hrt is always on my mind and I mean always.............I'm sure there are lots of you like me but sometimes I think I'm going crazy. Dumb way to say it but it has been soo long for me just thinking about it and now I'm close it really is all I think about..........

Believe me it is quite common. And once you start HRT you'll start to think about the next step, then the next, etc...

Best advice I can give is to find something else to preoccupy your mind. :)

Grace is so right on.  Got an aerobic work out of any kind you enjoy?  Dance to music.  I love sailing to capture my entire focus.... or an all consuming book.  And then, getting lost in someone else's drama can take us a distance away from our own eh?

Thanks so much......I know but it hard and exciting at the same time. I ember my first appointment with my therapist, my hands were literally sweating and it got better but still kinda funny.

There are too many questions before you start HRT, it is normal to have that in your mind for a long time, you are moving into a new direction and giving a really big step forward, you will be thinking about what could go wrong or right, you will think about your parents, friends, work, etc.

You need to breath and organize all your thoughts in your mind, in my case i had some questions in my mind before i started HRT, and the questions were "am i ready to lose everything i have accomplished so far and fight for the person i really am? Am i ready to tell everybody that i am really a woman and that everything else i have done in the last 35 years it was just an act? am I ready to lose my friends, family, work to be happy?"

I knew i was ready once i answered that questions.

Good luck, be strong, remember you are doing this to be better and to be happy, many things could go wrong but no matter what be strong and always be you!

And remember, you will always have people that will listen to you in this forum.

I should have mentioned, i started HRT in 1/2012, the relationship with my parents is stronger now than ever before, I still live with my wife and daughter and work was understanding and supportive. I lost some friends but i made many more.

I had a lot of questions before i started HRT but looking back it was the best decision I've made in my life, I am a better person and a better parent due to that.

There is always light at the other side, it may take some time to get to the light but you will get there and you will be happy for it.

Thank you, i said that just to let you know that you will get there and you will be happy, you only need to be strong and fight for the things you want, sometimes it may look like it is too difficult to continue but that's when you realize that you have to keep going to be happy.

Again, good luck! and be strong! but more than anything, always be you!
