Ha. I don't know where people are getting their info, but my coworkers are starting to think that I had surgery for a hernia. I had been terrified to explain what the surgery was for, and thankfully no one asked before I left. After I came back was when everyone was curious. I told the first person who asked that I pulled a muscle and he gave me a funny look, and I realized that was a stupid answer. Then I started telling people it was personal, and they were fine with that. Then a woman from another department was like, "oh, did you have a hernia?" I told her no. Then today, I had a coworker help me lift some heavy boxes, and he said, "I had a hernia once too. They are horrible." He kept trying to talk about it, but I acted like I couldn't hear him. I didn't want to lie, but I am completely okay if people think I had a hernia. Is that weird? I just hope it doesn't get to management. I don't want to be pulled into the office and questioned on if my "hernia" was work related. LOL.

Not likely they will ask and if they do, answer truthfully, NO.

The people I work with just think I took a long vacation.  I told my boss I was having "elective surgery" (because I didn't want him concerned), because otherwise I would not have been able to use sick time for the time I was out.
