I've been hoping to start t soon but I received a call from my doctors office today and I'm just wondering if its ever going to happen.  My doctor didn't like the fact that my potassium level was .1 lower than the recommended range even though everything else is normal including my heart.  One other quick point to make my potassium level is rarely in the recommended range.  I guess my question is have any of you guys had a similar issue and possibly make me feel less discouraged that I do at the moment?  I'm on a potassium pill and I'm watching my diet as instructed.  Please correct me if I'm wrong but testosterone raises your potassium level.

I understand how you feel, I FINALLY got on T on Monday, and I've been supposed to be getting on T since April. Things kept happening that pushed the date further and further back, and I can't even describe how awful it made me feel when it happened. I cried about it a lot, and it was extremely discouraging. But the day will come and when it does finally come you'll be super ready! Since you're starting potassium pills, did your doctor give you another possible date? You can also eat bananas, they help with potassium. I was extremely worried about if I'd start T on Monday because my doctor didn't like my cholesterol, but she gave me a list of things to do, and she still gave me the T. So hopefully next appointment your doctor will give you the okay!

I think almost every guy I've talked to has felt like this when trying to get on T, so just remember that you're not alone, and you WILL get there if you keep working.

Congratulations  CursedFireDean, on finally getting to start t, I know it is an important day for all of us.  Are you also starting college too?   lilthumper, my understanding potassium level is a very important level to have it correct and if it is off a little it can effect your heart.  I hope you can get your potassium level corrected and start t too.

Congrats on starting T!  I see him again on September 29 but before that date I have to get my blood drawn.  Hopefully, my potassium will be good enough when I get it drawn!  Thank you for the verbal encouragement!!

I had an ECHO (heart sonogram) and an EKG to check out my heart and its perfectly healthy and strong!  I hope when I go back I get the go ahead for T.

I bet you can get your potassium sorted out by then, good luck!

Hey, don't worry, you'd be surprised how easy it is to get those levels up. I often have low potassium and I had to change my diet, which fixed it a ton. It's all about potatoes for me. I make sure to eat at least 2 potatoes per week, baked. They have a ton of the stuff and are good for you in general. Try incorporating them into your diet and it should help.

Good luck!
