Basically curious to find out how HRT may effect me and perhaps shed some light on expectations on how HRT may work slow to fast depending on weight and metabolism.

For me when I was young till just before high school I was skinny with high metabolism and hyper active.  Then when I hit high school I happen to have a major growth spurt as well post the growth spurt I had change my metabolism to low and has stayed that way and I have gained way too much.  Working on changing that pre HRT but not sure how the metabolic rate would effect the HRT.  In theory high metabolic rate should make the HRT work more efficiently due metabolising the hormones but you never know what biology does:)  I do understand If I don't kick start my metabolism and lose some weight the HRT may and probably will work slower not as young either 42 that maybe yet another factor but didn't want to include age would be too many options.

Hope I have left enough options as it is. I cant honestly vote but vote for what I hope:)

A little late checking this but as I see it proves that basically it can go either way really.  Just one of those do not know things and flip a coin.  Thank you all for those that voted.

I haven't noticed anything to be honest. I expected to get an increase and thus also gain weight because it seems to be a fairly common experience among FTM but I didn't notice any. My apetite from what I've noticed, is by and large, exactly the same except the kickstart I gained when I began to workout for real and my metabolism increased which is a very noticeable change to me because it feels like someone presses on an overdrive button. I really feel the difference from living a sedentary lifestyle.

I did gain weight but it seems to be predominantly muscle mass, not fat. Currently weighing around 57 kg and I'm 160 cm tall so I hope to lose at least 5 kg more fat and see if I've gotten closer to my ideal body fat percentage (10%). It does seem like I burn it off a little easier after starting HRT, likely due to greater muscle mass which means more energy is required to keep the machinery running.
Come watch with me as our world burns.

I got chubby, but then again I got lazy too so it might just be my fault XD
"For transpeople, using the right pronoun is NOT simply a 'political correctness' issue. It's core to the entire struggle transpeople go through. Using the wrong pronoun means 'I don't recognize you as who you are.' It means 'I think you're confused, delusional, or mentally I'll.'. It means 'you're not important enough for me to acknowledge your struggle.'"

I have lost 30 lbs of mostly muscle from my upper body in 5 months, Its REALLY been a dramatic change and I've really done nothing as far as diet or exercise goes  ;D

I do seem to have stabilized at 5'7" (lost an inch somehow) and 150-155lbs but the muscle seems to still be going away (but slower now) and the fat seems to be maybe slowly increasing in the right spots  ^-^

Id like to get to 145 lbs and I think I will eventually ;)
