Right now I'm on patches for estrogen, and pills for Spiro.
As much as I love patches, they can be a pain.  I was thinking of ether injection or implant, but I've been told there not cheap.

I have Medicare parts a,b, and d with Well care.  Anyone know if they cover these and if I'd have to pay a co-pay?

The thing about implants is you get at least six months out of them (I got nine months out of my first implant). Yes it cost me about $AU300, or $34 a month, so it evens out over time. Can't remember how much the equivalent dosage was costing me in pills and gels. Probably the same?? It's just a lot to pay up front is all.

Hi Grace, I hope I'm not breaking the rules by asking for more details about your implant.. I'm planning on seeing a new endo soon and it would be great to have as much info on hand as possible, and as you're in Aus, there's a good chance that we use the same thing in NZ.. Is it Estrogen only or is it combined E+P? Also is the E dosage per day similar to what you would be targeting with patches? Also what brand are you on, that could help me do a bit of my own research :)
I'm on patches now and I actually think they are rather good, both effective and the ones I use seem to stick really well even with perspiration, I'm just getting a bit tired of having things permanently glued to me though lol, I wear more than one at a time due to my dose..

Thanks :) Claire

It's a 17-beta-oestradiol fused crystalline pellet. No progesterone, I'm still taking that orally. Apparently the doc wasn't happy with the P implants as they were occasionally failing.

Thankyou! Most appreciated. I'll squirrel this away for when I see my new endo :)
