Changing to Nebido

So I'm in the process of chasing up the guys at Charing Cross (and not getting far at the moment, I assume because of a backlog and some trouble I've heard they're having at the moment- if anyone knows more about that I'd appreciate the info) because a letter telling my GP I should be switching to Nebido seems to have gone missing. The reason I'm switching is mainly because I want to be able to travel a little and feel hindered in this by the daily application and dependence on Testogel. Other reasons include the fact that my T level is apparently a little low on the gel and on the few occasions I have been unable to use the gel or have forgotten (doesn't happen often but I got stuck away from home a few times) my mood has changed quite drastically.  So it was recommended that I switch to Nebido as other types of injected T are not available here at the moment.

The delay has gotten me thinking a little more about it though. Is anyone here on Nebido? Have you had any negative affects related to it? I've only ever been on a gel and though I have had many positive changes they've been somewhat slower than I was led to expect. In fact, after 2 years, I'm only just now noticing any changes in muscle and fat gain/redistribution. I have some facial hair, though not much (but that may well be genetic too- as far as I know my Dad couldn't grow a full beard until he was 40) and my voice, though a lot deeper and more masculine now, was slow to change. Would Nebido speed things up or slow them down? I'm not really worried, just curious.

One thing I am worried about is whether or not the change over could lead to having periods again at all.  I'm still on a monthly Gonapeptyl jab too but didn't think to ask how the change would effect that aspect when I last saw my doctor and as I haven't been able to get hold of anyone yet, haven't had a chance to ask. Anyone had an experience with changing from gel to Nebido?

Thanks for any info.

Charing Cross seem to be about 8 weeks on letters from what I hear people say. I also hear them recommend asking to talk to/leave a message for Margaret if things need sorting there. I don't know her last name. I'm at The Laurels though, so I only know what others have said.

I think you should possibly still have a "loading phase" when switching from gel to nebido, but I'm not 100% on that. It's something which needs discussing, but it should keep your levels right throughout the switch. I'm surprised that you're still on a bc, normally people are asked to stop after 6 months, and it sounds like you've been on T longer than that.

Hey, I'm on Nebido and it's the best for me. I was on gel and on another injection, but Nebido works best for me. No negative side effects for me and it's awesome I only have to go every 3 months for injection. I'm not sure if it will speed things up or slow down, cause I was on Testosteron depo for a year, than on Nebido, my progression was the same. In the meantime I tried Androgel but I switched back to Nebido. I don' think period would return if you already don't have them.
I'm not sure if this was helpful at all, but here you go :)

Ah, cheers guys, much appreciated :)
Yeah, the gonapeptyl is another reason for the letter. It's ended up at the wrong place and I never had a copy so my GP has no idea what to do and as of yet I've not heard anything back from my inquiries. To be honest I'm pretty sick of the gonapeptyl but personal circumstances and a series of lost letters and one infuriatingly ignorant GP have meant I haven't been able to come off it despite it coming up to the 3 years mark for T :/

I've been on Nebido since the end of January and it's great stuff. The only (minor!) negative is the injecting since there's lot of it and the injection sites get a bit sore afterwards for few hours or so. But otherwise, wouldn't change it for anything else and I've been on gel and Sustanon earlier.

Switching to Nebido also really helped with my acne which got worse on Sustanon. I still have it but it's not even nearly as bad as it used to be.
I also like the long injecting intervals a lot.

Hi ferretinafez,

I actually just posted about this yesterday, because 'diminished' periods have been a problem for me since switching medications, and lxndr was the one to reply to me about loading phases, which I didn't know about. I'm not sure my doctors (2 of them) knew about loading phases either.

I was changed from Sustanon to Nebido (called Reandron) in Australia around two months ago, with just one shot on the day when I would have had my fortnightly Sustanon shot. I haven't noticed any difference in the rate of masculinisation (voice has more or less stabilised at eight months on T; muscle development is pretty steady), but I HAVE started bleeding again, which sucks a lot because I am living in a share house while overseas.

Make sure you don't change right before long-term travel like I did. It was a stupid move. Also make sure you talk to the doctors about loading, but otherwise I'd say you'll be fine. Same as the other guys here, I love the 3-monthly gap between injections, and I've found that I've been emotionally stable on Nebido (until a nasty blast of E this month).

Same here.
For the loading phase, I was on another injection and when I switched to Nebido I didn't get another shot after 6 weeks from the first one, and period didn't come back.

Dio for dragons

hey guys!!

i have a question on this topic. does nebido boost E levels before it ends up in a hormone balance ? or does this happen with any form of T in the beggining if one starts with a high dose ?

i've been on testim gel for 4 months (a product like androgel). i've noticed a slight increase in muscle mass, my voice dropped and no bleeding :D so i'm pretty happy with the gel but it takes a lot of time for it to dry so i asked my endo to prescribe me injections and i had my first nebido shot yesterday. I wonder if it will impact my hormone balance, supposing there is any. my T levels with the gel were fine, i hope they stay OK and they don't turn into E in any amount -_-  just worried . . i guess i should trust my endo :/

First , welcome to Susan's.

Second, Nebido has a period of time before your levels reach what they should be, sometimes called a loading time. It isn't that your E levels rise so much as your T levels may drop for a bit at the start.

Third, Here are some site rules and answers to often asked questions.
