Locker room troubles

So the university i attend has a great gym i can use for free. And a body building girl friend of mine likes to use it and we both want to workout together. I sorta need thiscuz i have a hard time keeping motivated and weight rooms are intimidating if you dont have a buddy (to me)

But because we have to workout in the morning, we have to use the lockerooms and showers at the gym. Granted i pass with clothes on but theres no way i do without.

I still got boobs and still got lady parts. I honestly just look like a stocky lady with hairy legs and a deep voice.

I tried to use the mens locker roombut going in there i just got super dysphoric and i couldnt end up changing and there were lots of naked guys and i got nervous and sh*t

So my question is, would it just be better if I use the ladies locker room? Granted theres usually less people in it but i just dont feel i belong in either but if i had to choose comfort level id prolly side for ladies room.

There arent any unisex bathrooms i could use either :/ but im just lookin for advice here

I know eventually being on T for as long as i've been im not gonna pass as a lady for long, but i still have boobs.

Should i use the ladies room then after i've built up some muscle and let T do more changes switch to the mens room or what :/

If you're going to use the men's there at some point then I'd start as I mean to go on. Otherwise when you want to switch you'll be worrying that people will have seen you go in the women's before, especially if you're already on T and it won't be that long before the woman's really isn't an acceptable place for you.

Are there toilet cubicles in the men's? Would that be an option to change in?

How much odour do you have after a workout? Have you considered scented toilet wipes? They come in large sheets and would allow yourself to clean the skin easily. It won't help with hair but then something like an Unscented hair oil / dry conditioner could work well for the day. And a light dab of aftershave - not strong - just a hint that you have recently shaved.

Changing locker rooms during transition will be risky to say the least. I changed gyms and towns... And used a private shower at work or uni.

I've had issues with people feeling unsafe after I was looking male and using the female locker rooms, and I actually pushed the issue really far because my daughter needed help with changing. I used to just tell people point blank that I was transitioning from female to male and that the female rooms were where I needed to be, but eventually I drew the line and stopped going into them even before I was really ready to be in the male areas. Too many women got upset about feeling like I was intruding, and even men who could see I had a female body were not scared the way the women were so I felt like the men's locker room was the only choice.

If you can't change in a toilet stall or find some other workaround, you might have to make a judgement call about whose comfort is more important.

My opinion should be taken with a grain of salt, as I've mostly solved this problem by decreasing activities that involve locker rooms. I go to great lengths to find "family" rooms or other places where I can change without people seeing me completely naked, and where I can supervise my kid without my genitalia and social presentation dictating anyone's comfort. I work out at home and we mostly swim in the river.

I can see how the mens locker room is a few steps beyond using a mens restroom in the process of transition.  But I think some of the same things apply.  Men are really just trying not to look at other men's junk in the locker room.  Sure, there's always the one old guy walking around just letting it all hang out.  But for the most part, they're not looking around.

If you change in the bathroom stall you'll be fine.  Do the showers have stalls?

The worst locker rooms are the ones with showers on a post in the middle of the room.  I played baseball in high school and a few of the other teams locker rooms had that style shower.  Four guys showering while facing each other is really uncomfortable.

I didnt see any sort of stalls when i went through. It was just that no matter where i went there were a lot of guys. Old guys and young guys. And i do where a bra so theres hardly a good way to get undressed without people knowing.

I don't know what to do :/

I really do need to use this gym with her and i'd hate to have to quit cuz the stupid locker room situation. :/

If you're still wearing a bra then I'm assuming you have a visible chest? That's going to make things more difficult for you. Is there anyway you can get a binder or a sports bra which compresses enough to hid your chest? That should make it a bit easier.

There should be toilet cubicles somewhere in the gym, guys do have to dump somewhere, and it isn't acceptable to do it in urinals!

This is a difficult situation for you.  I have used the men's locker room for peeing and have walked through the changing area.  The shower is one big room with shower heads around the walls; I could never shower there.  There are two stalls one being the handicap type, where one could change. The changing area has dead end aisles and even thou there were few guys in there I don't think I could feel confident changing there.  I workout at the end of the day and go home to shower.

I looked around some more today and did find a bathroom i can change in. For the time being i just wont shower or just wash up well in the sink, that seems normal enough.

Mostly cuz there really wouldnt be too much point in showering as now my gym buddy also wants to go running at a later time of the same day. So theres that.

As far as my chest, my sports bra is my binder to some degree, my chest is about an A cup and honestly if i stand up straight its flat, its just i got big nipples for a guy. Hopefully next year ill get top surgery and wont have to worry about this stuff anymore =.=

I've been put in two situations where as a stealth person I sort of had no choice but to go in men's.

The first time, I just wore my t-shirt under my clothes, so that I didn't have to remove my top, and then I changed my bottoms facing the lockers and kept my legs close together so no one would spot my lack of balls.

The second time, I had to shower because we were swimming and I get a bad rash from the water if I don't wash it off after. Fortunately, the showers looked kinda like cubicles...they were open in the front but had a back and sides. I did the same thing - showered facing the walls so all anyone could see was my hairy ass and back.

I was utterly terrified lol, but it ended up being OK. Here's how I see it - play it by ear. Go into the locker room, clothed, and scope it out. If there's a strategy you feel comfortable with, do it. If not, just walk out and decide what you want to do later.

I have also called establishments before asking if they have special accommodations for people with disabilities, who need more privacy...usually, on the phone, they just assume I'm a support worker who will be bringing a disabled person to change and they will tell me what they have available in terms of private stalls. And when I come, I simply state that I called earlier regarding the "special" stalls and they give me the pass code for the room.

Alternatively I've changed in the bathrooms, when they have them, which is gross but it gives me peace of mind. If you are stealth to the people you are working out with that may draw too much attention but I've never had an issue. I usually just make an offhand comment about how I hate locker rooms and standing around with a bunch of naked dudes. I'm kinda fat so they probably assume I feel bad about my size lol.

The locker room situation, sigh.  Eventually I just gave up trying to figure it out and change in the hallway.  I don't really care, its everyone else who does.  My boxers and undershirt are satisfactory coverage.  So far no problems.  However, can't exactly use the pool until I figure out the locker room situation since you have to go through a locker room to use the pool.

i mean im getting to a point where im having a hard time apssing as female unless im nude, so i don't wanna freak out ladies but at teh same time im not at a point where i can get away with using mens facilities 100% without like a hey this kid looks 12.

I'll just change in teh bathroom for now and if im feeling like im passing more later ill try the lockerrooms more. the men's bathroom i use funny enough hardly gets any traffic since the locker room is so close :P plus it's got a big handicap stall so i can change more comfortabely.

i honestly don't think i'd even have the confidence to get shirtless right now even if i didn't have my boobs :P i've got the worst backne on the face of the earth.
