As much as I don't like to I do traditional male work. I work at warehouses for the most part. In 2006 I got a job that paid pretty decent. The only problem was it centered around the housing market which crashed a year later. In 2012 the place shut it's doors. I ended up working for a lot less and had less savings. I worked at this smaller warehouse for two nearly two years and then about two weeks ago they shut down the building I was working in and laid me off. I went into emergency mode as I tried not to exhaust my savings. The alarm in the back of my head was like "Ramon noodle dinner program initiated!" I was worried about unemployment who told me that even though it was a lay off I might have to wait eight weeks before receiving my first check which would include back pay. I scrambled and increased my job hunt which I had already started a month before. I was so worried and then the phone rang.

I'm employed again. It's once again male work but it's good money, probably enough to start HRT. Good money, good benefits and it opens up the door to things like more schooling as well. I'm so happy. It's like since I went ahead and began my transition all these doors are opening up!!! Yay!!!

We have to do what we have to do.

Getting a chance for more education is always a plus.
